We're talking about fully functioning STC, which would have EVERYTHING in it. Including how to make another STC.

Those STC's always manage to end up on world's overrun by Chaos or Orks or something lol so they have to fight for it

soemthign tells me if the Admech gets a tiny glimpse of a STC machine then they will bring all kinds of hell upon whoever the unfortunate individuals are sitting on it. And im talking Titan legions, full skittari companys and eveyr IG regiment and SM Chapter that are within earshot.

I'm of the opinion that if the IoM were to discover and utilize the fully capabilities of an STC machine then they would be able drive back the encroaching aliens, continue to preserve the Emperor and bring about a new Golden Age. Depending on the level of exposure the greater Imperium has to the STC the better things are going to be, considering that the Mechanicum not only would wish to keep the STC for itself, but there would be greater competition between the different Forge Worlds that would inhibit the spread of information that could vastly help the Imperium.

One good example of Martian. Is the Baneblade STC, where only Mars and a few privileged Forge Worlds have access to the entire STC. Because most of the Baneblade's STC contains systems unique to itself, Forge Worlds without access to the full STC have to combine parts from other systems to produce a Baneblade copy, with mixed results

Best case scenario is non-Mechanicum expedition discovers it and brings it back to the larger Imperium where they can produce copies to send to the Hive, Industrial and Forge Worlds, though there is almost no doubt that this will go into conflict with the Mechanicum, with the possibility of hostile action. There is even the possibility that whoever discovers it may use it to their own means, and could lead to another civil war in the Imperium

It would delay the inevitable- if by a significant amount. Even with one, I doubt the Imperium could hold off the Tyranids and Necrons forever.
