Also, motion to review current LoER qualifications for amendment to include scratch builders and converters of high caliber though they may not necessarily be 'riveters'.

I see your point Skalk, While we encourage all hobby aspects, The League is about riveting. This is our identity and what we are about. We only have one requirement, to rivet extraordinarily. If we change that, then we have to change the name and everything we are about. We have no loyalty clause, we aren't a political party, nothing is stopping anyone from starting something like that if they wish, but the League is about Riveting.

Generally, we sniff out the good converter and scratchbuilder threads anyways, then the silly mystery of the League peaks people's interest. The faux air of a mysterious secret society often interests people in joining. When they show interest in joining the riveting usually follows

When they get their banner, it gives them a sense of belonging to the Elite

Purely psychological.

I understand that completely. I've taken my terrain much more seriously since I've joined the League, and if you remember correctly I resisted joining for many months becasue I felt I did not qualify.

I need to renew my membership dues soon, I haven't riveted anything since the first LoER terrain contest.

"keeping up my dues" is a personal thing and I would never consider it a 'requirement' unless it actually became one.

that is a very nice description dave! i totally agree... to the letter! and it is also good to see it written down... at first glace it might sound like an elitist approach to our all beloved hobby... but that is as far from the truth as one could get... in fact again as you stated it... interests follows the threads of us and scratchbuilding gets inspired and riveting will eventually happen... it´s such a thing^^

riveting is so riveting ...it makes us rivet anything^^

i understand it is not as if i have a wide body of work at this point, and that it's hard to call someone an extraordinary riveter with only one contest entry and one WIP to their credit...
