One of the things we would like to include in the campaign is a sizable presence and representation of fleet battles etc.

To that end I would like to encourage all of you who play BFG to consider signing up your fleets and pitching in to the outcome of this massive war effort. Help defend the Imperium, or help destroy it. The choice of course is yours but I call for every able admiral to make hast with all due speed to help ensure their factions dominance amongst the stars!

This campaign is for all of us, we would really like you all to be a part of it.

Can we play over Vassal or does it have to be IRL games?

I havent gotten a yea or nea on that myself but Im assuming that vassal shouldnt be a problem. I am about to sign up and seeing how the majority of people I play with irl are not intersted in online forums I will be expecting to get the majority of my games through there.

Battlefleet Rostok is on its way! Our flagship is the Albatross, an Imperial Long-Serpent class Battlecruiser. We also have three Dominators, two Lunars, four Dauntless, and various escort squadrons.

Cool, when will the campaign be starting?

Not until the end of next week at the earliest. We are currently taking in sign ups for people interested in participating. Red is currently on maneuvers and hes the one writing the mechanics for the event. Once hes back we'll have a better idea on the time frame.

Thats a good question is this going to be strictly gw available pdfs or will the FAQ2010 be included also? Also is there going to be a set initial point value as in a standard bfg campaign (with options to bring in reinforcements complete repairs gain upgrades etc) or is this going to be a more anything goes type campaign?

The point values are up to the folks playing the matches. All the GW rules and any relevant FAQs from GW would be a good starting point.

So to put my name down do I need to just put the name of my Fleet or the flagship ?

what is Vassal? Because no one in my area plays BFG except for me?

Online tabletop, the controls can be a bit fiddly but its a good alternative to real life games.

Can a player join with more than one force?

I.e. I might not always play the same army, but as long as I report to the correct team?
E.g. when playing an "Other" army (say, Tau) report results with the tau army (and their planet, etc.).

I will prolly do tau....they are almost painted...necrons are in pieces...

This sounds like a really cool idea! I wish that I had a regular BFG opponent to play, as I'd love to join in.

Vassal is an online tabletop simulator. It has various modules that mimic games in real life.

Not sure how many BFG games I can get in, but will at least let them know we are out there!!!!

Lol we sorely need more unaligned folks, Order has so much fleet support compared to disorder/unaligned it aint funny. Every fleet helps!
