I have a growing interest in DA due to the starter set so decided to read the codex. Absoloutley love their fluff and found it to be the saddest story in the 40k universe imo. After reading all the fluff it got me thinking about the dark vengeance. Do you reckon one of the chaos chosen or the lord is a fallen angel? If the background is already known however then I would love to hear it. I read that some fallen take up new identities and the lord or chosen have spent a lot of time in the warp i.e. they are very old, so is it possible one of them is the fallen? The rulebook also has a very basic description of the battle, almost as if the true picture isnt being shown.

Dark vengeance as the new starter set has its own support, a BL novel ( English , french , german ) an audio -drama ( english ) and the WD article ( or precisely, the whole WD...) . Thus I doubt there is anything in the fluff about characters from this starter set beyond the hints in the BRB of 6th ed. The chaotic side of the starter-set surely has no fallen ( officially ) but as usual the models can be whatever you want them to be.
Maybe the next DA codex integrates this " Dark Vengeance" into the background of the DA.
The excerpt in WD gathered some debate, as it wasn't really that good. Didn't like it myself, as it doesn't fit the fluff nor the bat-rep in WD...
Still hope "dark" vengeance doesn't add up to "dark" this and "dark " that, like SW and BA got it.

We were wrong. It's not the 40k End Times. It's the Trademarkening.

Of course it will. The DA Stormraven will get Darkstrike missiles, the elites can take Darkfists, Darkclaws (Darktalons?), or Darkhammers, and Dark Scouts and Dark Tacticals take Dark pattern Dark Bolters.

They are very Dark Angels.

I would not be surprised if you see a "VENGANCE" or "JUSTICE" theme running throught the codex!
