What do you think A chapter that took Catachan as its home world would be like?
I'm thinking would be like a cross between Space wolves and Blood angels. They would deff. not follow the codex Astarte.
This is a world that made Harker, Marbo, and Starken. To me they would rival the Wolves in giving the codex their finger.

Except the Ultramarines. They recruit from Olympics.

Not all of the other 999 chapters for sure. Deathworlds make up a large number, but not all.
Feral worlds don't count as deathworlds. Silver Skulls recruit from a feral world, as do the White Scars (probably)
Anyway, I think Catachan marines would be like Reasonable Carcharadon Marines except the 'armor' concept
would be a bit strange. They get 5+ save for wearing a tank top, pants, vest and abs. Get 3+ save for just bionics.

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.

The spirit and attitude of a homeworld of a given chapter affects the various chapters differently.
Compare Baal and the Blood Angels with Fenris and the Space Wolves.

Fenris is counted as a deathworld...
IIRC the Flesh Tearers recruit from a jungle deathworld so imagine them but less nippley...
