Ignoring the Eldar for a second sense they ARE similar to humans
The Orks are a race that solve everything by beating each other up and using teeth as money. NO human group but the worst barbarians in human history act like Orks. I dont understand how you can even remotely say that the Orks are relatable in anyway.
The Imperial Guard are fething CARBON COPIES OF HUMANS FROM FROM THE 20TH CENTURY.
Cadians are based off a a Canadian / British combat and organization with the mixing of ancient Spartan culture.
Catachans are very USA Special forces of Vietnam.
Steel Legion is WW2 Germans
DKoK WW 1 Germans
Tallaran is British forces in the mid East with that islamic culture sprinkled in
Vostryons are Cossaks
Vahallaran is WW2 Soviets
Oh im not just talking about the looks, im talking about the culture, the way the people act, their approach to war, everything about them.
Combat tactics are based off the ideas of miltiary forces fighting during World War 2. Fluff makes a big deal about these guy being normal every day people given Kevlar Body Armor and an M16 (equivlents) and going into combat with them. Sometimes there are human wave tactics used but first, the Orks perform a even worse version of the human wave, and second, that tactic was used in human history quite a lot.
Military units have a vast difference is design so that some units hand out officer positions like the human forces during the medivil ages through heredity or riches. Other regiments hand officer ranks to those who attend schools or rise through the ranks.
If you say the Orks and Necrons (well I guess newcrons are okay but still weird) are more human like than the Imperial Guard than you apperently have never looked at ANY of the Imperial Guard fluff and have a weird view on what human like is
