So awhile back I was considering selling my Thunderhawk, but after seeing the stats for the Grey Knight Thunderhawk in the new IA book I decided to keep it, now a friend is trying to get me to sell it
He is offering $350 a Baneblade an a couple of leman Russ tanks for it. I like the Storm Eagle an could pick up three to replace the Thunderhawk, plus I am only able to use Thunderhawk in Apoc which I love but play infrequently.

Would you make the trade? Sorry for the oversized pic.

Hurr! Ogryn Bone 'Ead!

On Nimbosa, cramming as many guardsmen into troop carriers as possible.

I would sell it for 3 storm eagles honestly, if you can only use the thunderhawk in apoc and you rarely play apoc then sell it for storm eagles if they are legal for normal games, otherwise, go with your friend.

To my mind, a Thunderhawk is as much a display piece as it is a gaming piece. More, perhaps. So I'd never consider getting rid of it because I don't play Apocalypse games very often. Nor would I consider trading it for the (much uglier, IMO) Stormeagle.

"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?"

If you really want the bane blade and need some cash then go for it. You could get around 500 on eBay I believe though

People I have traded with sucessfully
Rurouni Benshin, Eternalhero1983, Shas'O Dorian, Tsilber, Grimku, Rothrich, Frankenberry, Thecupcakecowboy, Bottomfeeder, Ephrael, Ted234521, Kai, XghostmakerX, Pretre, Threedguru, labmouse42, zeke48, AnnomanderRake, badguyshaveallthefun, Kavik_Whitescar, Dependence, Malaur, Greyguy13, ultraatma

If I had a Thunderhawk I would never sell it. It is a display piece (as stated above) as well as being one of those models that you just don't see often. You can always pick up the other things you would like piecemeal, but its hard to find the cash to drop on a new one from FW in one shot.

If I had that Thunderhawk....I'd never sell it. My gaming group does Apoc games every few months or so so it would really be worth it for us!

The Storm Eagle is not that ugly, an more importantly it can be used by both Dark Angels and Space Wolves, both of which I have an at the moment outside of IA they have no flyers.

Well I do have a small guard army an between the cash, Baneblade, an 2 other tanks it comes out to around 500. Also I dunno about shipping it, the thing weighs a ton.

If I keep it, I am going to have to strip it, the standard Thunderhawk is not worth it's points in Apoc but the Grey Knight version with TL psycannons and Mindstrike missiles is a beast.

Don't let other people decide this for you.

It's your Thunderhawk, and only yo know if you want to part with it. The fact that you're having second thoughts and are asking on a forum shows that you know you want to keep it, and want justification for selling it.

Personally, I wouldn't sell it, because as others have said, it's a display peice. A lot of effort goes into building a large Forgeworld kit (I know, I'm building a heirophant still), which can't be conpensated for with money. Unless I absolutely needed the money for non-wargaming expenses like a bill, I wouldn't sell something like that. You can always save up the money for a few Storm Eagles.

I agree, but doesn't the GK Thunderhawk have some different pieces on it anyways? Why is changing the color suddenly going to make it different? You need more than that to differentiate it.

well its kinda funny how those Psycannons look like heavy bolters isn't it . Would have to sand off the Space Wolves doors, but I would leave the heavy bolters the way they are. Everything else is the same.

Don't they sell a Psycannon Turret Bit?

If all he's concerned about is the efficiency of the model in the game, I doubt a bit of counts-as is going to worry him. Although the idea of spending $600 on a single model and then just 'counts-as'-ing it blows my mind.

Well the sponsons are removable so switching them to psycannons wouldn't be that hard.

He is being persistent he upped his offer to 400 an also is going to throw in another chimera.I think I might do it I do have a forgeworld warhound as well its not as rare as the thawk but he would appreciate it more. My group allows ia so the storm eagles would get so much more use.
