So, after after deciding which of the armies I am going to move on to, I have settled on Beastmen.

My list is:

Great Bray Shaman 270
Fencers Blades
Level 4
Death

Beastlord 254
Heavy Armour
Ramhorn Helm
Dawnstone
Steel Claws
Shield
5+ Ward Save talisman whose name I cannot remember

Wargor 206
Heavy Armour
Shield
Gnarled Hide
BSB
Beast Banner

Bray shaman 125
Shadow
Shard

Bray Shaman 100
Shadow
Dispel Scroll

Bray Shaman
Level 2
Beasts

38 Gor 331
AHW
Full Command

5 Raiders 30

5 Raiders 30

5 Raiders 30

5 Raiders 30

Tuskgor Chariot 80

Tuskgor Chariot 80

30 Bestigor 405
Full Command
Standard of Discipline

Ghorgon 275

The only reason I am including a ghorgon is because I like the kit. I am probably going to drop it out for some harpies and raiders.

Oh, and the beastlord may become stubborn

I added up your point totals and I'm counting 2321 which is an odd point level.

So I like it overall, 206, Level 4, Stubborn Beastlord (yes give him the crown of command), herdstone with 3 shaman, plenty of chaff, ghorgon may not be competitive but it's fun and can be effective.

Now the critique... I'd try and get the bestigor to 40 to be able to run them horde if needed. The GBS is build is meh, if you go death you want Hagtree Fetish, there is no defence on this guy/no ward save, where's the jagged dagger at?

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

I am rewriting it to get a stubborn beastlord with a 3+ armour save and a 4+ ward. Also, dropping the ghorgon. 2 Shamans for my stone. The beasts mage chills with the gor. He will have the jagged dagger most likely. And the 5+ to hit my level 4 is probably going to be defensive enough. I will probably give him some magic items when I get a look at the section. (My puppies ate the back of my BRB). The bestigor are a horde, and they contain my lord and level 4. I tried 40 bestigor. It took a fair bit of chaff away.

Also, its 2400. So this way, I can add 80 points of stuff if I need to. I.E. Harpies and ungor....<.<

You really could do with a proper bunker for the shamen

That would defeat the point of having 2 shamen within 6" of the herdstone but more than 6" apart. Unless you are on about my beasts/death mages. That would involve dropping gor or bestigor or chaff. Which, frankly, is not something I want to do.

2nd list is better I do like Hagtree Fetish with the death shaman though. I do recommend a magic weapon on the beastlord, would suck to have that bestigor unit get held up by ethereal garbage. I'm not a big fan of beasts around the herdstone, sure he can be the closest one upfield but check the distances on the beast spells, Wysaans at 12inches is not much at all and the big version really starts to take away from the dice pool of the level 4, I use those shamans as batteries and may throw 1 dice at miasma if I have enough left over, maybe 2 if I really need it to go off like when I'm about to drop a purple sun, 48inch range and not needing line of sight makes it the ideal spell for the herdstone. But experiment with good placement you might be able to make something happen just remember beastmen are all about moving up field and commiting, you do not want to hold a unit back just so you can get wyssans off you're better off miasma their initiative or weapon skill. If you do drop the level 2 to a level 1 think about picking up the Chalice of Dark Rain.

Also experiment without a bunker if you feel you need one get one.

Level 2 Beasts is there to wildform gor and as such he is in the gor. The 2 shadow mages are there to herdstone.

Yeah I know what it's for, I'm just saying be aware of the limitations, you have a major range limitation on the spell and casting it on a level 2 will require 2 dice on average, 3 if you really need it to go off and if you need the extra range add an extra dice for the bigger version, that's 3-4 dice, with that herdstone build you should be averaging 10 dice maybe 11 with channeling, that's quite a chunk of that. But it can be game changing too, I'm just throwing it out there play test it a few times and see if it is working for you.

My gor should be engaging my opponents units when and where I want them to. That means in my magic phase, after I kill his main caster(s) so my spells should go off easier.

NOVA

I have run Bestigors many, many times. I love Bestigors; they are the best (it's in their name!).

With that said, running fewer than 35 has always ended in disappointment for me. 40 is better.

Another side note; I don't see the point in harpies and razorgors. While Harpies are slightly better at warmachine hunting and Razorgors are better at character sniping, either unit can do both, and I think that 4 units that do the same, very specialized, thing is overkill.

I've also found that having three shadow shamans at the back has worked better for me than mixing shadows and beasts. YMMV, though.

Good luck!
