OOP models for the win

I got the Khorne Blood Slaughterer Impaler (I think thats the name), I had a hell of a time painting up my hellbrute (half finished) and after seeing the Blood Slaughterer on the forge world board I really wanted one. Other than that I got my little entry badge for Golden Demon (didn't make finalist) and spent the day drooling over battle board and models. Great day all in all

Pretty pleased with my purchases, although the Deff Rolla sprue kept stabbing me in the leg and had totally shredded the bag by the time I got back to the car.

Was very careful not to get carried away in the sales area and didn't buy anything normally available through GW because of the internet, no point wasting money.

I bought jack gak, dont agree with the silly pricing. I also thought the whole event was gak.

There was not as much there as last year. All the display boards were gone and not enough space filled. The whole area next to the rhino could of been filled but they left it bare.

Dont really care about FW, so that was pointless trying to push their stuff.

What a crock of gak, dont know if I can be bothered with it next year.

Display boards gone?
They had most of the big tables from WHW (including the Fortress).
They had a new Asteroid themed Imperial Table.
Forgeworld has the Isstvaan display and the Doom of Mymeara display.

I'd go so far as to say there was more to see this year than last. If you didn't go see the FW stuff though, then yes, you missed out.

FW has been becoming more attentive to the fans at GDUK for a few years now; the seminars are more popular (gasp! They tell you Stuff!), the displays better and better. GW's main studio is getting left behind in the wake of better customer relations. About the only thing you can actually learn (without resorting to trying interpret cryptic clues) from GW are some painting tricks from the 'EM and studio army painting guys.

Golden demon was good this year though. Proper enjoyed that.

If i were you i would give it a break for a year or two if you thought it was that bad, most people i have spoken to, enjoyed it.
