Love all of those but the forgefiend and maulerfiends. What dumb looking models. Mechazillas.

However... CHAOS CODEX!!! Woot!

Dragon: If the Hell Talon were a transformer this would be its other shape. Looks like a sweet model but I'm not sure if it fits in the army visually.

Forgefiend: This is what happens when a Blood Slaughterer and a Juggernaut love each other very much. Fairly simplistic but look good, this is what the Defiler should have looked like in the first place.

Maulerfiend: As above but less techy, more bestial. Not bad.

Warpsmith: Doc Ock indeed. Glare is obscuring a lot but probably it's a superb mini.

Warp Talons: Nice enough if they lose the silly winglets on the jump packs.

The Dragon looks fun to cannibalize for parts, but the rest of the newpic stuff looks terrible. I hope they still have marines and daemon princes, havocs, or something that I can use to play the army.

New stuff won't be bought by me.

I personally love the "new" direction they are taking chaos.

Give me more of the melding of organic and metal. I'm tired of just being spikee mahreens. I'll be buying this WD just to drool over these pictures. Screw the rest of the content.

They look like robo nids to me. The only thing that looks good from the pictures is the warsmith, everything else I'll have to see personally before judgement.

I hate to say it but, I actually LIKE those warp talons! My question I suppose, as I don't know much of the chaos fluff, is who normally uses them? Or are they more of an undivided sort of thing?

Not as much of a fan of the robo-dinos. I do like the warp smith though.

The dragon i'm not 100% sure of tbh, don't know if it'll fit in the theme of any CSM army

I like it. My least favorite is the forgefiend but I think that's mostly the head which I could easily switch for the maulerfiend.

And I think the Dragon is pretty amazing. I'll reserve full judgement till I see the sprues and better pics but I'm very happy with it. It screams chaos to me.

Dragon looks silly to me, like an old He-Man toy. Think I'll be using Hell Blades as stand ins.

Slaughterfiend, Warpsmith and new Raptors looks sweet.

Hmm certainly reserved judgment on these, although the warp talons look excellent but I just wont be using them anyway

The fiends seem to be tyrannofex size? I may grow on them as I still need a big thing in my army. Its either codex and dragon or codex and fiend.

Also someone said the dragon can have different looks so I will certainly wait and see.

Wow, I went from super stoked to utterly disappointed. The warpsmith is cool, and that's about it....

I like the Forge Fiend and Warpsmith... But really, those models are so over the top... Especially the dragon. After Dark Vengeance I'd expect much more satanic/warped models.

OK, the Forgefiend and Maulfiend are pretty cool models, but WTF do they have to do with Chaos Space Marines? I'll need to read their codex entries to be convinced they belong.

I look at these models and immediately think that it's Magic: The Gathering card art or more appropriate for Warmachine / Hordes. I'm sadly let down. IMO... They just don't fit in.

I think in this case a lot of people who are disappointed right now will come around.

Chaos has been "imperials with spikes" for a long time and the majority of us agreed it needs to change; but of course any departure from this norm will look out of place for a while.

My first reaction to most of these models was "nice model, but doesn't fit in the army visually." Guess what? This is the new visual style for Chaos. In a few years it'll be the spiky Rhinos that will seem out of place, and armour-plated beasts will be normal.

I think I want the Dragon (pending its other builds per the rumors) and the Forge Fiend. Maybe a Maulerfiend but for sure the Forge. Oh, and the Warpsmith.

Hmmm... No picture of the codex.

I'm thinking that these are not for Chaos Space Marines, but a new race called Chaos Space Dinosaurs.

IMO the dragon and the fiends look ridiculous and look more like transformers toys than 40k models.
To be completely honnest, the dragon's body and head make me instantly think about something like that:


However I think they have the merit to open some new perspectives for kitbashing.

The warpsmith looks fine but the warp talons are as ugly as the CSM lord with a dorsal reactor

cant wait for the 360 degree spin images, I am sure they will look better when inspected.

The real question now is this:

One flyer. One walker dual kit. One unit dual kit. One character.
Is this freakin' it???
