So I played against my friend who had necrons. I used stuff that would cause instant death and similar stuff. I need to know a few things;

1) Does double toughness weapons take away reanimation protocols from things without that ever living thing.
2) If I kill a squad of one destroyer, does he get Reanimation?
3) If i kill a squad of TWO destroyers, reanimation?
4) Cover saves from the lord of the storm lightning? EDIT: From Imotekh's special night fighting rules.

All these situations happened in a single game.

Just want to know this stuff in case I go against his necrons again! Thanks!

Yes you may take cover saves against the lighting.

'Q: Do units hit by lightning as a result of Imotekh’s Lord of the Storm

A: No.'
So no cover saves unless in a building i guess.

What about being obscured?

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

For a vehicle? Well, you have no model to draw LOS from to determine coverage, so no.

The only way to get cover saves from the lightning is to be in area terrain, jink, or some other method where you always get a cover save (except tau disruption pods, which I believe still only work over 12").

Cover saves not based on LoS can be taken. Jink, KFF, Smoke, etc, OR from being in area terrain.

To gain the cover save from area terrain, you now need to have the terrain between you and the attacker, which is why ruins got more sensible. But it has never been specified where the lightnign comes from, so unless you have terrain all around you, then I don't think you get your cover save from area terrain.

You do not need to have it between you and attacker. Being IN area terrain gives you cover.

Ruins, by them self, are not area terrain. The base, if it has one, is area terrain. Which means, if you are on the ground floor of a ruin, and it has a base, you will get a cover save no matter which direction the attack comes from. If you are on the second floor or above, you must be 25% obscured to claim a cover save.

Oh, everyone round my areas been playing it wrong then, cheers for this. It does make more sense as all the rubble would fall on the floor.
