Not relevant.
@Regi- Nether wsa the GK codex but people are still complaining about it. You only have to offset the game a little bit and everyone suddenly hates you. Its not a matter of it being "Gamebreaking" and more a matter of "Its not Fair"

So it's not a legitimate complaint, more of its something others don't like? Okay.

Which is funny when it seems most Tyranid players are going "Well yes, that is the rules. Go for it."
If fair was worth ignoring rules over. . .nah.

Yeah - the codex with neither vehicles not quad guns is fine with it, but everyone is crying about unfair. Wat.

Ugh, with the reasoning started here, I can field a Gk Dreadnought, with a Hunterkiller missle and 2x Autocannons with psyammo. Place it in BtB with a quadgun and fire my two autocannons and the quadgun. Since walkers can always fire all their weapons, and the weapon emplacement allows me to fire it instead of one weapon. My dreadnought can fire 4 autcannons at the same target
Sick, just sick. And if the gun emplacement allows em to fire everything as skyfire.......stupid loopholes. I need to model a walker with a cable setup to hookup to a gun emplcement, so it can seem, partially realistic.

It can fire the Emplacement.
It wouldn't get Skyfire, as Skyfire is listed under the gun details.
If it said, firing model gets skyfire, it'd be a different story.

It does. A model with this special rule, or that is firing a weapon with this special rule, fires using its normal Ballistic Skill when shooting at Flyers, Flying Monstrous Creatures and Skimmers.
You're firing a weapon with the special rule, as such you fire using your normal BS. It's what the rules say.

Do your other guns have it? No

Therefore, only the Skyfire gun gets it.
Its like saying a Hydra Flak Tank can fire its Autocannons at a flyer and hit normally, and then a hunter killer missle at a flyer and hit on normal BS.

Just for fluff purposes, did anyone ever consider a vehicle crew wirelessly hacking the gun emplacement, using their own consoles to target and fire the weapon from the safety of their own vehicle?

Just because they can't manually fire it does not prevent them from having one Autofire at your flyers, its like having an ork shoot for them.

Which means the Tyranids would have to buy the Fortress of Redemption, as only Emplaced Weapons can be auto-fired, and I wouldn't rely too much on the Bastions Heavy Bolters. Their only other option, a Flyrant can Vector Strike to get a possible 12 for armour penetration.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Its like saying a Hydra Flak Tank can fire its Autocannons at a flyer and hit normally, and then a hunter killer missle at a flyer and hit on normal BS.
A model with this special rule, or that is firing a weapon with this special rule, fires using its normal Ballistic Skill when shooting at Flyers, Flying Monstrous Creatures and Skimmers.
First, we need a model that's firing. If this model has the Skyfire Special Rule it gets to fire with it's normal BS against flyers. We both agree on that. The next part, though
or that is firing a weapon with this special rule
doesn't actually limit Skyfire to the weapon that has the rule and that is being fired. All that is required is that you fire a weapon with Skyfire (or that you have it "built-in") and you get to fire with your full BS at Flyers, FMCs and Skimmers. Nothing in the sentence whatsoever limits the effects of the rule to the weapon with Skyfire.
Let's break it down further:
We're ignoring the part about the model having Skyfire inherently, since that's not what the argument is about and it doesn't change the meaning of the sentence. The sentence in this example thus reads: A model that is firing a weapon with this special rule, fires using its normal Ballistic Skill when shooting at Flyers, Flying Monstrous Creatures and Skimmers.
Again, the model is firing a weapon with Skyfire. This gives the model, not the weapon with Skyfire, the ability to fire at Flyers, FMCs and Skimmers using its normal Ballistic Skill. As it's the model affected by this rule, as opposed to just the weapon with Skyfire, it affects all the other weapons fired by the user the same turn.
Its like saying a Hydra Flak Tank can fire its Autocannons at a flyer and hit normally, and then a hunter killer missle at a flyer and hit on normal BS.

Fluff wise that does make sense but the first thing I thought of when I saw the topic was a Drop Pod that somehow managed to land in B2B (or Hull2B) with a quad gun. Silly and increadibly unlikely? Yes. Fun to think about anyway? Yes. How would this completely automated vehicle operate the quad gun? Just curious to see what fluff justification people can pump out for this circumstance.

By bouncing bullets of the Weapon Emplacement to rotate it and then very carefully shooting the fire button.

Machine spirit wirelessly connects to the Quadgun and use that link to fire the weapon, or someone in the squad inside hooks up a USB-connection between the Pod and the Quadgun.

Why can't they have the 'sacred holy emplaced weapon holy hand hole' (AKA S.H.E.W.H.3) trap door to stick their hand out and use the gun. Leave the wireless connections for the witches, xenos scum and heretics. Let them burn for their wicked so called 'advanced technology' and use the SHEWH3 like the emperor intended you to!
