I played the hell out of the original Borderlands. That game was awesome on so many levels, especially the General Knoxx DLC. Probably my favorite game of the past few years, INCLUDING the Mass Effect series.
With the sequel on the cusp of release, I'm definitely looking forward to stepping back into that franchise. Is anyone else a Borderlands fan?

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Absolutely zero interest in it. First game was a let down and exceedingly boring, and when I saw how they said they were doing something special for pc gamers, and that meant giving you video options that games have had since forever, all I could do was shake my head as people cheered.

Also Ald...I've called dibs on Axton, but Eddie refuses to respect the dibs!
I refuse to respect the dibs as well. I'll play whatever class I damn well please. Fortunately for you, I was a fan of the Siren in the first one (I could solo Crawmerax! What was not to love!) so I will probably start with a Siren, though the Assassin also looks very interesting.
I won't have it on release, but I will probably have it within a week of release. My roommate is a manager for Game Stop, so she gets it for free, but it usually takes a few days for that to happen.
Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about the first one?

I was planning on doing different playthroughs for different characters, but starting with Axton or potentially Zer0.
Most likely Axton though, because who doesn't love turrets?
And honestly, with the first one I felt that I came into the game far too late to really enjoy it, as I started playing when Knoxx's Secret Armory came out.

Meh, I plan to play the single player through at least once before I start playing multi. That's how I did it in BL1 and it worked well, since I could bring a character in with a few trash guns that sell for insane prices and hand them over to the low level characters to get money

I'll be doing the same thing. I want to have one of each character at max level before any DLC releases. If Mackie ends up getting the game though we should have a 4 person party for online play, but I don't know if he will be getting it or not. That depends on his available funds. He and I did a ton of co-op in the first game so I expect he will eventually get it and join us.

The turret in the first game was nice. Especially if you speced it to heal. We figured that the only way to actually beat Crawmerax with a 4 person party and NOT have a Siren do all the work was to have 4 Rolands with heal turrets because they would be invincible!

I didn't get my own copy of the game until after General Knoxx, but in all honesty that was half the reason to play. The original game was fun, but Knoxx was a thing of beauty! His dialogue was the best in the game!

Well, for me it was a MP game...where I could never play MP because people didn't want to have a lowbie along. I played a bit with SilverMK2 and Purplefood and we had fun, but it was still a case of "Eh" for me as I had to wait for them to come on to enjoy the game.

I wanted to like the first one but I just found it so dull. I tried 2 play throughs and gave up on both about 3 hours in (just after the first big boss fight IIRC).
This looks to be more of the same. If reviews are ecstatic I will get it otherwise I will wait until it is on sale.

Same.
I just dont get what the appeal of it is suppose to be.
I'm so psyched for this game, but I can't play it till next week because of lovely college tests. :(

I hate to break it to you, but your opinion is wrong.

I did not find the voices in the first one annoying in the least. In fact, the voice acting was part of the game I really enjoyed, especially Scooter, who I sincerely hope returns in this game. The character designs and the arty style are what I like most about the game. The sci-fi weaponry in what appears to be a mashup between trail-blazing old west and post-apocalyptic future. Also, I'm a sucker for games with skill trees and loot drops!
@ Kanluwen - Sounds like you are playing with the wrong people. Mackie and I liked making new characters at level 1 to play through the game with our friends who were just joining us. That way we all leveld up together and played classes that we might otherwise not have fully leveled. When we all got to the cap, we would switch to our badass characters or rotate through them to get gear for characters that still needed it. I also remember doing Crawmerax runs on my Siren to power level people who needed loot and levels. I was going to do the runs anyway, and adding a second person just increased the loot drops and the chances for better loot, so I didn't care. It was probably a little boring for a new character at first, but it only took a few kills to get them into mid level range.
Anyway, I digress. The point is, we have a new game with a new set of characters to level. I won't be playing day 1 since I will have to wait for my roommate to get her copy, but I will be playing soon enough.

@Nechroshea - I'm glad you have been enlightened. Care to alter your opinion now? Just messing around, its cool that you don't like children, I mean borderlands 2.
But really, I suggest giving it one more look, because unless you are really opposed to the whole premise of the first game, then you might like the second one better, since it really is (from my personal hands-on experience) a much improved version on every level.
