Hey Dakka,

I have a half finished IG army knocking around at the moment, and I've been thinking that they'd look a hell of a lot cooler with a Steampunky-mechanicalness to them (nothing like AdMech, more older tech), as well as being devoted to chaos (so blood and rust will be a big part of this).

I've been looking around for some parts to do this with, and I found several bits from Kromlech and PuppetsWar, but I wanted to ask if anyone has any ideas/suggestions/comments?

Also, If anyone's interested, I might make a P&M blog on this project!

Thanks Guys!

Warmachine bits, weapons & figs are a good start to get that steampunk feel. Also pith helmets on infantry, boilers & smoke stacks on tanks. If you use stormtroopers consider putting them in old school.diving suits. If you take allied CSM contingent then put them in boilerplate armor with their own steam boilers. Oh & consider taking aether ships as counts-as valk/vend. Look up the GASLIGHT & Aetherships of Mars for ideas.

There are also tons of sellers on Ebay and the like that offer various sized lots of watch parts, primarily for the DIY jewelry market. They're not exactly cheap, considering the price per ounce (most sell by weight and less useful/attractive parts usually weigh more than the gears we're after), but they're a bargain compared to many 3rd party bits. A smattering here and there can go a long way toward establishing a old tech feel, without necessarily requiring much actual conversion.

Indeed, especially when building power/terminator armor to look like clockwork men!

BTW, I found some examples of what I was referring to here: http://mateengreenway.com/steampunk/Space1889UK.htm

Those MaxiMini bits look great, if I combine them with some of these (http://kromlech.eu/?p=466) and some cogs, I could really get somewhere! I'm loving the idea of the Aetherships too, I've seen similar things here and there, that may well have to happen as well!

Having looked around Maximini a bit more, I've picked out quite a few bits that I think would work well together. If I were to start a P&M blog, would there be any interest?
