Hello All!

Here are pics from a recent commission work. A Forge World Ultramarine Stormeagle.

It was modeled and painted as requested. Airbrushed Altdorf Blue for a smoother coat. The side doors are free-handed.
The rear hatch is magnetized to keep it closed.

I hope you like it.

Thanks
D.

It is a good looking model. It is a pain to assemble.

I have pics of a commission of a Caestus Assault Ram in my Dakka gallery you can check out. Be aware that you might have to pin the wings on the Ram, They are heavy and do not have a lot of connecting space for glue.

Clean and crisp as the customer likes. The model was airbrushed Ultramarine blue over a black primer. With hand painted doors.

thanks

Could you not have consolidated everything into one thread?
I love the painting, though.

I like your style a lot. It reminds me of back in the day when I first came upon Warhammer 40k in a magazine. Bright crisp armies battling over a field of green.

Please create one ongoing thread for your commission works, there is no need to have 7 threads to show your services. I will give you some time to consolidate but I will be shutting the other threads down at some point in the next few days.

Most other commission painters tend to bunch their offerings together, and/or their work is so spread apart that they don't need separate threads as it won't clog the front-page.

I appreciate your understanding and thank you in advance -

Cheers,

That is such a beautiful model and you have done a supurb job painting it. The care for the interior is admirable and the free-hand door is top notch. Seeing your finished work really entices me to order one. Great model, great execution.

Really top-notch work there. The freehand is great. However can i ask did you have any problems assembling this bad boy? I'd heard it was an utter PIG and that dissuaded me from buying one.

Yes, quite a lot of pinning. Along with a lot of straightening out of warped parts.

Thank you. It is an utter pig to assemble. I worked on this one and another one for Dark Angels at the same time. Both needed extensive pinning. I even had to add cut plastic pieces to pin the rear hatch to, so that It could open and close. I would say over 50% of the parts were warped. Some pretty badly. Even the large fuselage pieces were warped.

I do not want to discourage anybody from getting one of these but if you do know that it is a handfull to put together.

Great details on the interior! Amazing stuff. I salute your courage in dealing with assembling that while keeping the ability to open it up!

Thank you. It was definately somthing to put together. The side hatches are glued shut. I had enough trouble shaving down the side doors just to get them to fit in the hatchways. The front hatch fit well enough but the rear hatch would not fit at all. I had to add two small pieces of plastic to the rear bottom to pin the rear hatch to. Then I had to magnetize the rear hatch just so it would stay closed. Also, the interior bulkhead was warped and was too big to fit into place. So, it had to be straightened out and shaved to fit. I have put two fo these thing together and both had similar problems.

Also, your painting work is amazing.

Wow! That is giving me post traumatic flashbacks! All those same things happened to me.

I even had to take a razor saw to one of them and hack away 1/8 inch just to get it to fit together. I have done 3 of these, and I sure don't want to do any more!

It makes your achievement here all the more impressive!!

You should have seen one of the twin-linked las-cannons parts. It was so warped it looked like a double capital J . Like this ( JJ ). It took hours to get them both straightened out.

I guess I could have put it on the flyer and it could have been used to shoot down enemies behind it.

I cannot figure out how some of these very warped parts make it out the door of Forge World. It would seem like someone would notice.
