I am looking to see if there are any people interested in getting a club going in the Stoke On Trent / Staffordshire area.

I have a venue in place (they will let us play for free). They are very flexible on hours/days too. All we need is people!

Hmmm, bit of a pain to get to on the bus but doable, especially if it is on a day when I could use the car.

I'd be up for meeting somewhere in SoT itself - the gaming club location suggested in the OP is just a bit too out of the way.

If anyone wanted to play at the Hanley GW at some point (assuming there is not some kind of an event on), or at some other location in SoT, I am sure I could probably make it.

Slight threadomancy. I am interested in clubs in an around (up to say, 30 miles or so) Stoke. I have heard vague rumours about the venue near Barlaston, but nothing more. Does anybody have details, including timings, location and an invitation? Cheers!

There's a shop on city rd fenton, opposite the car park. Called guys that game I think.
They have a table upstairs, last time I went. MTG downstairs mostly

The guy in stoke market selling models, has contacts around stoke including clubs.

I live in Stone, and am looking at getting back into the hobby so if there is something happening around Barlaston depending on the day and such I could be interested in the near future.

Thanks for the pointer unfortunately I can't make the Thursday meet day that powerfist meet on. I'm due to start a new job the end of the month and depending on which shift I end up getting I can only reliably make either Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday.

It does unfortunately make it a fairly tall order for me to find a group, but once I do I'll know it's worth me making a final race choice and making a start on my 1st army in a decade

Unfortunately I am now out of the area entirely.

I moved back to the UK in March, I'm living in Walton atm.

Last I played I think was 3rd edition 40k, figured now I'm back if I can find somewhere local to get a game in it would be worth me rebuilding 1 of the forces I used to have.

Does anyone in the area happen to know if Stoke Wargames based in Longton is still going ? I've been trying to get in touch with them but with no luck so far.

Their site says they meet on a Friday night which should be a good fit for when i'm not working.

Thanks for that folks, I've found their website and sent an email via that, a comment on the comments page and followed it to their facebook page to contact them there but so far nothing. To be honest I was starting to think they may have closed down which is why I asked if anyone knew anything here.

I'm still looking at getting back into this hobby but I really need to find somewhere that meets on my days off to make it viable is all.

Not a great deal of GW games get played there, from my visit. It's mainly historicals and WW2, along with other random wield and wonderful crap.

Unfortunately the wargaming scene in Stoke is tiny. The only clubs I know of are this one, and Guys that Game (also known as Ed's) in Fenton. Ed is trying to expand his store by opening a second location next door to the one he has to encourage wargaming, but atm it's mainly card games.

i live in cannock chase so its not to far for me, when/what sort of times are you envisionsing.
