I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I figure it's as good a place as any. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever ordered custom dice from Chessex, and how long did they take? The main reason I ask is because I told them to go ahead with my project two weeks ago, and I haven't heard anything since. I admit, I've ordered from them in the past (they did some awesome work on my wolf dice, basically a gray and blue Gemini design with a wolf head as the 6), but I don't recall the previous order taking quite so long.

Anyone else have better knowledge on the company? I know, I'm an impatient bastard, but hey, thought I'd ask.

Chessex is probably the biggest and best known manufacturer of gaming dice.
It is first choice for every board and forum for ordering custom dice. So generally there should be no problem.
I have never been involved in actually ordering custom dice, so no idea on how long they take, but that should give you an idea and some relief.

it took eight weeks for our last order of Custom D10s.

Same here, 8 weeks for the D6's we got before.

My last order was faster than 8 weeks but it definitely takes some time. I wouldn't be worried after two weeks.

Chessex will take care of you! They did a great job with a big order we put together down here. It took about 6 weeks but it was totally worth it.

That's kind of why I posed the question to Dakka. They didn't give me any estimate, the last I heard from them was an email asking if they should go ahead with the order after printing up a sample.

Out of curiosity, how big were the orders that took 6-8 weeks for you other folks here? The last time I ordered from them, I only did 27 (and this time I'm doing either 30 or 40, I believe).

Does Chessex have any issues with putting copyrighted materials on the dice. I was considering putting in an order myself, but I can't find the link for custom dice that works.

The Dakka Dice order, which is done through Chessex I believe took about 8 weeks, and we ordered about 1000 dice

I do not think they mind. One of the blogs I follow got some tyranid dice done, and he said Chessex actually had the graphic he wanted on file. But they obviously don't advertise this.

I don't believe they do. My first set of dice used an image that I pulled directly from a pdf of the Space Wolves codex, and I didn't have any problems with it.

I've ordered lots of dice from them. After they've already got your order sorted, they won't really contact you unless they/you have a question. It should take anywhere from four to eight weeks. Usually somewhere in between. Just be patient, you'll get your dice.

Ours took us about 8 weeks to get. We were terrified that they were going to be late for Adepticon last year, but they somehow managed to get them on my doorstep the day I was leaving for Chicago. They're the way to go for custom dice.

They're also who we order dice from when the DakkaDakka dice are made.

Im thinking of ordering too. Get some White Dice with red numbers and a white scars symbol, or MLP dice.
But i cant find the order form.

Yeah, I've noticed it's not a real well-laid-out site. You kind of have to dig around to find anything you want. For your benefit:

Also, if you're doing anything regarding custom dice, always email it directly to custom@chessex.com - I wound up waiting almost a week after submitting my order before I asked if they had gotten it, and it had mysteriously vanished (this was when I sent it to orders@chessex). Similar deal when I asked a few questions about custom dice, sent an email to customer service, waited 3 days and got an email back from the custom email address...sent an email to the custom one, and got it back within the next day.
