Subject: Observations of Slaanesh (thoughts after first game using Slaanesh 6th ed Chaos Codex)

Well, Saturday I played my first game using the new Chaos codex. It was a 1000 point game, I fielded:
Chaos Lord with a power sword, Sigil of Corruption (or whatever the 4++ save is), MoS, Gift of Mutation, and Vets.
Sorcerer with MoS, the 5++ save item, a spell familiar, and mastery level 3.
1 unit of Noise Marines with an additional marine, 5 sonic blasters, doom siren, MoS, Power weapon (sword), Icon of Excess, and Vets.
1 unit CSM + 4 more marines, traded boltgun for ccw, MoS, Gift of Mutation, Vets, Power weapon (sword), Rhino +Dirge Caster
2 Obliterators
Aegis Defense Line w/Quad Autocannon.
My Opponent was Space Marines (Imperial Fists with Ultra Marines)
He had two units of 5 marines each in a razorback with heavy bolter
a landraider (the one with the flamers on the side)
a unit of veterans (or whatever the hell they are that can be an entire squad in artificer armor)
a Chapter Master in Terminator armor)
and a Dreadnought
We played the Emperer whatever (scenario 5?)
with Dawn of War
We got nightfight first turn.
I got the Hatred warlord trait
He got the nightfight first turn warlord trait
Lord got gift of Crusader
Champion got gift of hatred
Telepathy primaris power, and the 3-4 and 5-6 options on the slaanesh chart. (not the one that buffs my guys)
(I am leaving out stuff that did not result in anything relevent)
I won deployment and he stole initiative. His first turn all he did was destroy my quad gun and move forward.
My first turn my Obliterators popped a razorback and then my Sorcerer hit them with some spells (the telepathy primaris power and then the one that makes his unit -1 WS and -1 BS and my sonic weapons +1 S) then my Noise Marines shot the remaining squad off the table.
His turn two, he ran over my Aegis defense line with his landraider and his other razorback. The razorback dumped its load on the far side of the land raider and the landraider flamed my Noise Marines. I lost all but one of them (forgot feel no pain)
My Turn two my Obliterators pop his landraider, My sorcerer breaks off from the lone Noise Marine.
His Turn three, his dreadnought immobilizes my rhino, his remaining razorback kills the last Noise Marine, and his Vet squad with Chapter Master assaulted my Obliterators. and kill them in close combat.
My Turn three my Sorcerer assaults his vet squad and chapter master, and my Lord and his 9 man squad get out of the rhino. and shoot at the vet squad. My Sorcerer challenges his chapter master accepts, no wounds in the fight.
His turn four he shoots at my Lord's squad with his Dread, Razorback, and 5 man squad and removes 3 Marines. In the close combat, my Sorcerer kills his Chapter Master with a Force weapon kill. (unworthy offering on the boon table)
My turn four, I assault his remaining vets with my Lord and his CSM squad, the sorcerer dies to perils of the warp. I kill 3 of his vets.
His Turn 5, we go straight to assault, I kill the rest of his vets and roll 6" for my consolidation.
My Turn 5 I assault his 5 man squad, I kill 3 of them, (unworthy offering on the boon table)
We roll to continue, the game does not. I win for having killed his warlord and firstblood. Neither held objectives.
Somethings I learned:
Remember to deploy the quad autocannon in my deployment zone so I can use it.
Remember feel no pain rolls. (Might have saved my Noise marines)
Remember that Vets is preferred enemy and different from hatred

"a unit of veterans (or whatever the hell they are that can be an entire squad in artificer armor)" You mean terminators? Only the BA have a unit (sanguniary guard) who can rock a full unit of artificer armor.
Given that this is posted in general discussion I think we are expecting to hear more along the lines of how you think the new codex stacks up to the old one etc.

Honour Guard perhaps?
I think that with the dawn of the new dex Slaanesh has overtaken Tzeentch in the power-stuggle so as to resemble this:
Nurgle
Slaanesh
Tzeentch
Khorne.
Iranna.

Honor Guard, that is it! Sorry for the confusion, I do not play C:SM and was unsure.
Slaanesh comes out Far ahead of where it was in the last edition.
Major points:
Noise Marines with Sonic Weapons are 5points cheaper than before, and will bury an enemy unit in wounds, With the addition of FnP they have staying power they had less of before. (as long as I can remember to roll for it)
Slaanesh sorcerers have amazing synergy with Sonic Weapons (if you get the 3-4 power) In addition to that they are cheaper than before and more diverse in their builds
Chaos Lords are cheap combat powerhouses and pretty potent with Mark of Slaanesh and a power weapon.
I did not get a chance to try out my Dirge Caster as my rhino was immobilized.
Regular Chaos Space Marines with the Mark of Slaanesh, Icon of Ecstasy, and traded boltguns for CCW, hit hard and faster than MEQ and are rather cheap. compared to last edition. Despite bonuses to CC from Khorne, These will be my go to Close Combat unit. With a Lord attached for added punch.
I enjoyed my Codex last edition (despite everyone's dislike) However, this edition really makes Slaanesh a powerhouse that it was not before.
Next I am looking into taking Slaanesh marked bikes. T5, I5, FnP bikes seem rather rude.

I was thinking for an Emperors Children army that a Chaos Lord with MoS, Jump Pack, and the Black Mace running with some raptors could put the hurt on a squad. Plus he'd gain FnP from being in their squad with the Icon so he'd be pretty tough to fully kill unless ID.
