Meloda looks decent. Aethelgryffindor looks a little awkward in any pictures I've seen.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with Orlando as to the quality of the art.
I think if they had gone with something like the Kingdom Death pinups with huge swords and sight obscuring celtic death masks of some kind they could have been on to something, but they missed that in concept and especially in sculpt.

Trying to work out my final pledge for this right now. Really like the Dragon dudes, but I don't like their Scottish buddies that have padded that line.

I like meloda. Not too hot on Æthelglyth

The Sword melusine are horrible.

I see Stéphane Simon did The Rose of Ker-Ys. His stuff is so much better.

The Meloda sculpt for Angelcynn is also good IMO.

She has very 'classical' proportions that you rarely see in minis nowadays. Only Morland Studios has impressed me with a similar classical art influence.

Her arms look awkward and malformed from all the pictures I have seen. That is what annoys me about the figure. I will admit, I have not seen this figure in person.

I have the Melusines and use them as stand-for Wracks - my idea is that while some Wracks decided to be pretty ugly, some decided that inflating their boobs and prancing around naked was on the opposite of that scale.

With three young kids, if I get cut off from the real things it will not make much difference with the frequency., kids officially ruin the fun....but I think she would be really annoyed if I spent her valentines present on five badly sculpted pole dancers.

Does anyone know how force selection will be sorted out? I know point values are a given, but will there be army lists like WFB, cards like Hordes and God Slayer or is it just a case of play with what you got? Apologies if this is mentioned elsewhere, just can't see it.

You buy models for your force in coins...so points I guess? Cards have been mentioned as a next kickstarter thing, and would make a lot of sense for tracking the wound mechanic they are using.
Designations like Warchiefs etc. imply that there's some sort of force organisation but that probably wouldn't be present in the quickstart rules.

From the game demo video the orders you give each unit (attack, defend, move, run, charge etc) can only be changed if you are close enough to your warchief,

(units will be able to attack if an enemy unit is close enough whatever their basic orders

this range also seems to be modified by other units like standards and musicians

You've also clearly got units as sword melusines were acting as one (ie in attacking & taking damage)

The raven-man can be amazing. I hope that the right sculptor will get to do it! Allan Carrasco would totally pwn a concept like this. I hope he'll be used.

With not long left on this KS, I wish they would show the next Stretch Goal. Another round of 'free' stuff would not go amiss in a big push for a £100'000 total.

Does it really matter? It looks like a quality miniature to me, and with Rackham gone the suppliers of quality sculpts are in short supply.

Considering Stephane sculpted a lot of the Rackham line, I would say that the wip is only a rip off of his own previous products.

The rackham IP belongs to coolminiornot who intend to reintroduce the range this year so yes it does matter if another manufacturer starts trying to rip them off.

I dont think its ripping off of rackham designs, I think its just the artists style

To be fair, there is only so much you can so with a muscle bound barbarian with an axe, look at GW's Marauder Horsemen. As mentioned above its the same sculptor so there will be similarities.

Very hard to copywrite a 'style', especially when it comes to fantasy miniatures, as inspiration for such miniatures has been around for quite some time.

As to CMON owning Rackham's IP, that only stretches to existing sculpts in their line of miniatures. If they want to do a kickstarter and have less competition, then they should pull their finger out and get to it.

I'll add the photo soon as I upload it but there is a rackham drune rider model with the horse in the same neck down pawing ground pose that also has bones the same as that down the back of the neck. Also features muscular bare torso'd rider with armoured lower leg portions.

You're talking of the Drune horned riders. They aren't nearly as muscular as the WiP is, and about the bones, so what. If you look at Tre's models for the RGB kickstarter, his horsemen designs aren't so much different. Again, the same artist that made the Horned Riders is making this miniature. Is an artist not allowed to make miniatures of a certain type once they are not longer in the hire of the manufacturer? Remember, Rackham failed and went under, and although CMON owns the IP, they don't own the former artists who worked for Rackham.

It's a wide world of miniatures out there, there are always going to be similarities between manufacturers. Especially with artists moving between companies. Be glad of it, it allows more variety.

I would rather that the IP that belongs to the game is used to relaunch the game rather than being exploited to make a quick buck by another company.

I'm surprised to see so many dakka'ites so keen to support this sort of behaviour.
