@cincydooley - you had it right up to "Or gets to reroll all 3" - there's just the one re-roll from the parry die on the heavy armour.

You get to roll the 3 duguth hit dice (called strike dice) - they're not re-rolls, they're just "armour saves" to use a certain game's expression (they're really "constitution and armour saves" but you get what I mean I am sure).

Hope that helps.

@RiTides

The quickstart rules were finished for the first KS; those are already in an update on there (not sure if it's backers only, didn't think so). I think that's it.
Here's the update, by the way: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mierceminiatures/darklands-a-world-of-war/posts/584781

Yah. We've been using the QuickStart rules, though we've apparently been playing a few things incorrectly.

rTides, if you have any trouble getting to the QuickStart rules I can help you out.

Personally, I really, really like them (even though we were playing a few things wrong it appears ). I love how the big baddies like the Jotun get weaker and easier to damage the more damage they take, and their skill really reflects how clumsy and cumbersome they are.

I was reading through the muster lists today to try and figure out what kind of demo kit I should prepare for GenCon. I've got some time, but I want to make sure I have all the models I need (I'll probably do a special demo set because of all the not-me handling they'll take) so I'll need to order some more. I keep pestering the poor mierce guys about a demo team, too, because I like the game that much.

Right now, I'm thinking I will do Duguth and some Anglycnn as one side and then probably the Norse with trolls as my 2nd. I've got the trolls and the Norse, so I'd only need to get a few Anglycnn models (I have meloda and the other chick, and a creoda). Probably the most economical way for me to do it.

KS1 update - hope you're sat down...

Jowan, Vaak, Ssibyros, Gamla Bror, KS1 and KS2!

We have a cracking update for you today! We have work in progress images of four miniatures, news of Kickstarter I progress and a reminder that on Monday the Kickstarter I category on the Mierce Miniatures website will finally, utterly and irrevocably, be locked... apart from miniatures that haven't been sent out or released yet, of course!

Vaak, Moraine-Beast

Roberto has completed Vaak, our a construct of ice and rock, all angles and chips and texture!

Roberto's next project for us is Pétroyos the Lískarchon!

Ssibyros, Gorgonarchon

Stéphane NGuyen is almost there with Ssibyros, as you can see! It shouldn't be long before he's winging his snakey way to us and then to your door, although there's still a few things to iron out.

Jowan of Carn Dhu, Hound-Master

Refreshed by his holiday, Stéphane Simon has cracked on with Jowan very quickly. This is good news, because that means the Drune-Hounds are around the corner too!

Gamla Bror, Troll Gothi

Let's finish on Allan Carrasco's simply stunning incarnation of Gamla Bror, our Troll Gothi. This really is shaping up to be a work of art and we are amazed at how awesome it actually is right now! Don't take our word for it though: have a look below...

Kickstarter I Progress

It's time to update you on Kickstarter I fulfilment progress!

We're about two-thirds of the way through the Angelcynn infantry starter sets, mainly because of the spear-stiffening; it adds a further delay to each miniature produced, but the results far outweigh the cost of this delay and we're pretty sure that you'd prefer stiff spears to bendy ones!

What this means is that we'll take a little longer than originally thought to complete the Angelcynn shipments, so you're looking at late October now before they're all sent out. Bear in mind that this is not an exact science and it does depend on manpower!

Thus, it will be November at the earliest before the Gorgonares starters begin to ship, not least because we don't yet have Ssibyros yet of course; but we are getting there.

Of other recently completed sculpts, both Chaagmuth on foot and Brynhild Gunnblindi are now being shipped, but we are prioritising those orders with starter sets so if that's all you've left with us, please be patient!

In terms of other sculpt progress, here's a few snippets...

Allan Carrasco: Gamla Bror is in progress of course, and Qaano will be sculpted later in the year.

Benoît Cosse: Vókkinak is finished and he is working on Aalvór as this is written. Maallolvór and the Werwulfas (whose concept art has now been assigned) will follow in due course.

Roberto Chaudon: Vaak is about finished and he will begin Petróyos shortly after, with Belech following.

James van Schaik: he should be starting Kernuor on Karnun Beast around the end of October.

Stéphane NGuyen: he is still sculpting Ssibyros and that should be completed soon. Druc will follow from him.

Stéphane Simon: Jowan is in progress of course, with the drune-hounds following. Then he'll begin work on Leofwen on her Hart (as well as Leofwen on foot from Kickstarter II).

So impressed with Vaak and Gamla Bror

I've been trying to figure out the most cost effective way for me to get the stuff I want/need, and if its through the KS1 portal or through KS2.

I know I need another faction with troops for my demo stuff, and I know that I want the Brythoniad starter.

I also know that the Anglycnn starter would be better for demos since it has troops. Sadly, with both of those starter sets, I have models from both. I have Credoa, Meloda, and Aethlgyn (or whatver her name is) So thats like, half the KS1 starter package.

And honestly, I want the Brythoniad more anyways

I don't envy you your choice. Well, it may be worth considering the more popular Kindreds. By my reckoning, these are:

Brythoniaid - Dragonmen (always popular)
Angelcynn - Werewolves
Norse - Vikings. Who else do you get to Sail, Land, Burn and Plunder with?

Lucky for you, Byzantii aren't ready for your demos as I think a Roman Legion marching against Viking raiders would look so bloody brilliant, who wouldn't want in on that?

I have, and will definitely be getting, all the Norse stuff. Its the stuff I was most drawn to originally, and I like it a lot.

I actually like the Sronax, but based on their backstory, they seem to be the most evil of all of the factions, and I'm a gigantic pussball, and never do the bad guys.

The faction I'm really waiting for is the Eirann. I wants me some Irishmen.

If I get some of the Norse Infantry in this KS, they should be to me by GenCon, so I could always do Norseman against the Brythoniad dragons and call my Steersman Hiccup.

I think I may just need to sack up and order some Duguth so that I can do the demos with infantry.

Wait... does this mean people can still add-on funds for KS1 until Monday?

If so... Alpharius, do you think you can let me know today whether or not you plan to get the Blood Maw for me to buy off of you from KS2?

If you aren't needing to get it, I'll ask if someone here who is still waiting on a KS1 shipment if they might add it on to their KS1 pledge for me before Monday

Yeah most likely just waiting to hear back from Alpharius, since I'd already offered to buy his from KS2. But if he's not getting one... getting it from KS1 sooner would be sweet

I know it's somewhat more expensive, but you guys should just wait till KS2 is over and buy the older figures you need from the website. You can add funds into the kickstarter now, and that will push the total up to get more figures made for everyone. This is what I'm planning to do.

That's what I've finally decided to do after much dilly dallying so I've gone for a skirmish host & Malacant as part of the Kickstarter and I'll wait till the new Dragon is out then pick up the rest of the stuff I want from the old kick starter then.

That's annoying - it looks like the start of the KS was pushed back, but the end might not have been. Means it ends before I get paid, rather than after, so it'll just be the Sweet Spot for me, I think :(
