Man those Jutes have style
Mierce has been just amazing with communication to some messages I sent (due to my own confusion with my cart / etc). The same has been true for my past orders, too - I actually haven't encountered better customer service anywhere!
Currently don't have a use for the hippo, but that doesn't mean I'm not furiously trying to think of one

I feel like every starter host they show has SOMETHING I really want in it.
Bell bashin hippo
Fire shooting half demons
Baby wyverns with waywatcher welsh
Chicken Hawks
Atlantean cylons with laser tag squad
And we still haven't even seen what the second Ysian and Fomoraic hosts are yet!

Is Sairen a new sculpt and do we know who the sculpter is?
I would ask on Kickstarter but its too hard to follow while at work.

Monstrous Infantry Hosts
0 Comments

Due to popular demand, we've worked long and hard to bring you some fantastic Monstrous Infantry Hosts (at the same prices as the Infantry Hosts to save confusion) to serve as a great introduction to Darklands and of course to bolster the armies of every kindred out there!
Here's all the Monstrous Infantry Hosts you can go for in one graphic:
Led by a monstrous commander, each Monstrous Infantry Host usually features a unit of monstrous infantry with full command and a couple of extra warriors, which will be the alternates of the banner bearer / herald.
1,000 Gold with the Support Host
We've thought long and hard about what's in each Monstrous Infantry Host, and they'll compliment your Support Hosts extremely well. Suffice to say, if you have a Monstrous Infantry Host and a Support Host for the same kindred, you'll have a host of at least 1,000 gold ready and able to take on the enemy!
Host and Individual Costs
Increase your pledge by £60 to purchase a Monstrous Infantry Host in metal, or £90 to purchase the Monstrous Infantry Host in resin.
You can purchase the units within the host individually, and these are their prices:
• £18 metal (£20 RRP), £22 resin (£25 RRP) - Bagseg, Cearl, Mag ap Mag, Djiuzu, Ckaarakk, Heldred (50mm bases)
• £22 metal (£25 RRP), £27 resin (£30 RRP) - Sthena (60mm base)
• £27 resin (£30 RRP) - Creoda (80mm base)
• £45 metal (£50 RRP), £72 resin (£80 RRP) - all the 5x man Monstrous Infantry Units
Note that you are only given 10% off the individual RRPs - we want to make you purchase the hosts! Additionally, we won't be offering the various miniatures inside the units, or the extra warriors, individually for this project.
Shipping
Now, many of these hosts are similar to the ones produced in Darklands: Metal Age, and so it may well be that we can ship them earlier than February 2017; but we cannot promise anything and it is better to understand that your hosts may only ship in February 2017 than have hopes for earlier.
Watch out for more updates soon...
Automatically Appended Next Post: £35,000 - Byzantii Auxiliarius Support Starter Host
You lucky lads have grabbed yourselves the Brythoniaid Helwr Support Starter Host at £25,000, so let's aim for the next host because it's going to be superb. Set at £35,000, here's the Byzantii Auxiliarius Support Starter Host featuring Onumo the mighty Hippoxus!
Led by Gaius Galerius, an Auxiliarius Option, the Auxiliarii are Mainstay infantry of the Byzantii, made up of warriors from various parts of the Empire to wield spatha (sword) and parma (shield) for the Emperor. Joining Gaius and the Auxilia are the Auxilia Bestiarii, warriors that bring beasts from far-flung corners of the Empire to fight for their general, and one such beast is the mighty Onumo - a Hippoxus of Axumae, a huge hippo-man brought to bludgeon the enemy to death with a bell-club ripped from a Nailed God's church.
Note that Onumo will be sculpted by Allan Carrasco, which is certainly one reason to purchase him regardless of whether you want the Auxilia!
Increase your pledge by £60 to purchase the Byzantii Auxiliarius Support Host in metal, or £90 to purchase the Byzantii Auxiliarius Support Host in resin. You can of course purchase the units within the host individually, at the prices listed on the graphic. Watch for more Support Hosts soon!

I have a quandry. I really would like to get the Jute Monstrous Infantry set in Metal as it has all the Dreaguth's various sculpts. Problem is I am also getting the Jute mixed starter from the Metal Age kickstarter and that's already got three of the sculpts in there, and I don't think I will be needing 11 of them in total. Wish I was able to swap them out in the earlier kickstarter package for something like a bunch of those Jute axemen with lanterns, or half axemen with lanterns, half with bows. As it is, I'll likely just stick with my regular Jute pledge from the previous kickstarter.
Unless there will also be a way in this one to buy just the ones missing from the previous KS metal age pledge in this kickstarter perhaps? In any case, that's where I am kind of stuck at the moment.

The prices in the update show individual ones for the unit, and of course you can buy them seperately too

Whilst I will be able to buy Heldred separately, the two other miniatures (which are different from the three in the Metal Age kickstarter) won't be available.

I'd much rather get the host so I can have all of them, and swap out the ones in the Metal Age kickstarter, but I don't think I'll be able to.

Derp, what a newb I am, I completely missed seeing that.
I still have my pledge open, as they've not made all these yet, so I'll pick up the two missing ones in that, and Helldred in this. Thanks!
I'll skip over the other warriors for the moment, as nice as it would be to have them. Trying to keep the price on this as low as I can, and I am already looking to get the Ysian starter, plus some added miniatures.

Arg.. Mierce Kickstarters confuse the hell out of me. I backed the one that's currently in production and still haven't added funds because I can't figure out what a base pledge actually consists of or how much should be added. This one looks to be structured the same way. As cool as a lot of this stuff looks, I mostly want lizardmen.
Also.. is there any place that has just the art for each individual unit? Those big group images that are like a menu at a Chinese restaurant are annoying and I'd like to actually be able to zoom and take a look..

One day I`ll snap and will spend way too much money on Darklands.. Don`t have any right now, but Fomoraic will definatly be the way for me to go!
I have a couple of questions:
Do people mostly buy metal or resin miniatures for darklands? I prefer resin by far, but the price difference makes you think quite a bit.
Outside kickstarters are there any offers with a discount, similliar to starter hosts?
PS: Walvax - I need them!

I'm going METAL for all human infantry sized models as well as on anything that looks like it would have a fragile connection piece - spears, chains, etc. on weapons, especially.
METAL AGE was a godsend for me - the increased durability on the gaming table was very welcome!

click on the images on KS and you'll be taken to a zoomable version on the mierce website (still an all in 1 image but you'll be able to see things at a decent size)
you may also find things on Ryans page http://thebeerwaaagh.blogspot.co.uk/p/blog-page.html where the might be separate rather than in hosts

I have a lot in resin already before metal was an option. Will probably stick with metal going forward. If I'm going to keep all my Darklands stuff in unopened shipping boxes under half finished terrain projects in the basement I'm ok with metal...

I wish I could switch out a lot of my 'pending' RESIN stuff for the equivalent in METAL though - METAL is just going to be so much better for gaming...
