Well I know some of you out there have hit ym blog up a few times and I was recently told it was locked tried to get it unlocked with no luck So I will just Keep going where I left off.

Here is the link to my locked Blog http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/416117.page

Anyways I have been busy the past couple days and managed to finish a couple more dark angels while I was at it.

I just want everyone to know I started DAs before Dark Vengence came out I'm not jumping on the ban wagon.

So again I think actions speak louder than words so here are my newest ones.
These models were rescued from an abusive relationship off of ebay I think I have helped bring them back to life I did not do the bases on these models.

Well got off of duty earlier than expected so I was able to get more time in last night.

I got the serg. done for the tact. squad I'm working on, and decided to try something I saw on here. It was making crystals out of spruce pieces so since my chapter masters base is not done I decided to throw them on so I work on that as well. I know the base is still not completed for the master. I need to pick up some stuff to finish it up.

The crystals look good and really set off the base of the chapter master. What colours did you use to get that effect?

Dark blue from Space marine assault box set, as the base color, Then dry brush with ultramarine blue, then the next light blue can't remember what the name is then I took that and mixed in some white and and did the edges.

Finally got to paint some tonight I have been on a crazy schedule with work gotta love the military. Anyways I know a few things you all are going to say and one is molding lines the models from this model on wont have them he was one of a few I saved from an Ebay lot that I resurrected back to life.

Also saw a post about putting you models in front of a dark back ground so the camera catches more detail with no flash seem to work pretty well think I'll re-snap a few photos tomorrow.

Well finally got some free time to sit down and work on the models from the last post. Didn't get completely done, but there is all ways another day. Just need to finish up the highlights and washes and they will be good to go and my first dark angel Tactical Squad will be done.

Well I finally got the time to finish up the three models from the above post. Juggling work, kids, and throwing in skylanders into my free time models are getting lower and lower on the pole to work on. But now that the Tactical squad is done I can focus up now on the ravenwing section of the chapter.

Great job so far! It is nice to see someone giving some unloved Dark Angels a good home

Would you be willing to try adding a darker shade to the red weapons? I have seen green washes (sounds crazy, I know) used to add depth to red paint schemes. If you look up a good Blood Angelspaint scheme tutorial you should be able to find examples. At the moment some of them look a bit flat, whilst others have more depth.

I would also suggest, particular because your painting is so neat, it would be good to get rid of some more mold lines. Time consuming as it is...

Good luck with them and don't worry about the band wagon brigade. One more of us means one less of them

Thanks I know the mold line thing is something Big and I wasn't going to completely hit the models because with filing comes more painting. I need to get a set of jewelers files also. I'm working on it with the new stuff I am going to start. the stuff I saved off of EBAY wasn't to bad It just need a little TLC to bring them back which was just throwing some dark angels green on and highlighing them. They were pretty rough to say the least. But thanks for the input I'll take a look into it. Thanks

Well I have been caught up in some stuff lately and I have finally found my way back to modeling again lets just say I took a long vacation. Anyways I had to finish up some models I was doing for a friend that I still owed him which was taking all my free time to work on my own stuff. So I have been going for a couple days on my own stuff and here's where I'm at. These two models are a start to my devastator squad.

I'm now using a different wash on the robes I was using devlan mud, but I think it is to dark so I'm going with a sephia wash now.

And I decided to revive one more Ebay models I had stashed away. I did take the time to remove the modeling lines and I'm giving him some much needed attention. He looks like he has gone through the warp and back. He still needs more highlights and washes, but its a start.

Well here is the mob killer for the Devastators. I like to have a little bit of everything in my squads. I'll have 2 rocket guys, a heavy bolter, and two with bolters. Kind makes me have a warm fuzzy that the squad can take out a tank and a large amount of troops if they need to as well also.

Agreed, i think you nailed the dark angels scheme perfectly, especially with the edge highlighting. i do think the red on the weaponry needs a wash though, maybe a light brown??
Keep it up, will be watching this.

I do not base coat in chaos black like GW recomends. I just airbrush the pieces with straight dark angels green. I use the green wash when all is said and done, and my highlight green is the ork green I believe is the name the medium color green before the new paints.

still working on getting the weapons more depth.

I got the highlights done on the heavy bolter. here is how it turned out.

Well I got my new airbrush today so I had to try it out. So I decided to take a step away from my devastator squad and work on a death wing terminator.

Well I know it is still summer, and I don't usually paint because I'm outside more than I am inside. But last night I just had an itch to paint so I decided to. I had a few pieces lieing around that were almost done just needed a head, torso, and pack done. So a couple days ago I spent like 30mins laying some paint on them, but couldn't get into just sitting there. Then last night the urge was pretty strong to finish it up so I sat down, and finished it up. Don't ask what color I used on the hair, because I don't even know what color I used I mixed so many colors to get to where I ened up.

I like the colors that you are using.

What do you use for the robes and for the flesh?

So last night I decided to break out my DV DA Librarian. I air brushed the blue on and the robe color. Then I went to work on one of the pieces, and I felt I got a lot done for the hour I spent on it. I'm trying to recreate the image off GW. Not to the T, but taking the small detail stuff and adding it.
