Can you take 8? I know force org doubles, and they have the rule that lets you take 4 already, so at 2k will you be allowed to take 8?

Not really, I'm not allowed to post the exact rules, but the short answer is yes.

Unfortunately, dakkadakka is not a replacement for the rules. Although the rulebook rules do get posted from time to time, it technically is not allowed. As such, al we can really say in this case is to check the codex.

I am pretty sure you can answer the question yes or no, and then supply the page number that the actual rule is located on.

Well yes, but each detachment would need to follow the leaders of the pack rule, if not the whole army. I'd go with the whole army to avoid confusion myself. I suppose the real question on if leaders of the pack applied to both detachments would also bring up the question of would taking logan in one allow for wolf guard to be taken (read as must be taken as) as troops in the other detachment?

Well yes, but each detachment would need to follow the leaders of the pack rule, if not the whole army. I'd go with the whole army to avoid confusion myself. Yes wolf guards can be trakten in the other detachment and still counts as troops since all wolf guard in the same army does, not all wolf guard in same detachment. Its the same ruling as only one logan grimnar is allowed per army not per detachment

In that case then all 8 would have to be unique as per Leaders of the Pack yes? I'm curious now. lol

all in all, 8HQ is to expensive, I would drop that idea.

Also you could have 2 more rune priests with ll to batter the hell out of stuff.

The answer is "Yes" you could take 8. But now I have to ask, why would you want to? That's like a minimum of 40% of your points on 8 models. That leaves you barely enough points to pay for the 4 required Grey Hunter squads.

Ah but you could take canis, and then go crazy with thunderwolf lords and thunder wolves. Spend the minimum on fenrisian wolves and just have some fun.

Ohh yes it is legal. A horrible idea but legal

So what if it's awful. Have fun sometimes, there is no way that a tourney could work at 2000+ points so it's mostly going to be for fun games.

I know thats why i'm building it. I want to see the look on theIr faces when I put down 15 thunderwolves.

All 8 Space Wolves Special Characters in a 2000 point list. :p
(6 HQ, min squad of Wolf Guard with Arjac, min squad of Blood Claws with Lukas, couple of drop pods and 2 min squads of Fenrisian Wolves.)
