I don't know what tha havoc box includes, but I'm guessing it doesn't come with the bits to field 4 autocannons. I'm wondering what the least expensive way is to make squads of havocs that each have 4 autocannons. Thank you

If it comes with 4x HBs, then you just need some plastic tubing to extend the barrels. Alternatively pick up Guard HWS or Sentinel autocannon from a bits place.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

The havoc box is exactly what you see on the box, no options aside for the champion.

Assuming you have zero extra components at all, buying all the loose bits you need for 5 CSM and the guns is probably going to run you about the same as the box anyways. Autocannons are popular enough that you're going to be paying a lot for each one anyways, plus you'll need to convert as none of them are designed for a marine to carry around.

Cheapest method should be to pester your local marine players who bought Dev boxes and get their unused HBs.

what bits websites have something that looks like an autocannon? I don't mind buying the havoc box for the models and converting them to be holding an offbrand autocannon, but I'm not familiar with alternate bits makers

The Sentinel autocannon barrels on the CSM heavy bolters will be your best bet honestly. Alternately, you can get creative with plastic Devastator lascannons.

I've been toying with ideas on how to do this. I've got a bunch of Gundam model kits lying around. The barrels from a Heavy Arms - four in fact, would be perfect if cut up. Now I just need to figure out the rest...

Wait for these models to come out and steal their arms.

I made my autocannon havoks pretty easily. I had a bunch of heavy bolters left over from the standard marine kits. So i cobbled together some. I got Ork big shootas from an ork friend, and a heavy weapons squad autocannon from an IG friend. I made 2 autocannons out of ork bits and the heavy bolters(using vehicle deamon heads for the end of the barrel), one from the IG cannon and a heavy bolter, and the last autocannon is from the havoks box.

you could just as easily make the barrels of the autocannon out of plastic rods using the heavy bolter as a base.

What Obsidian Raven said. Get some Havocs, assemble the Autocannon marine as normal, use Heavy Bolters from the Devastator or Chaos Space Marine boxes, add barrels, plundered from Heavy Weapons Squads, or made from plastc rod if you are on the cheap, add the usual gargoyle maws, trophies, chains, blasphemous runes, spikes, and other unholy details to your liking. And there you have it. 4 Autocannon Havocs, and some spare weapons to sprinkle around your force as you see fit.

Assault Cannon barrels could work as well. Plastic Rod is cheaper though.

It's like Forgeworld know whats going to be the most popular thing from the new codex more than gw does

Even if gw released a new plastic havocs box, it would only contain 2 at most, like the devestator box only has 1 missile launcher etc

For us NZ/aus people it might even be cheaper than the current over the top priced finecast havocs

Above are some good suggestions for making autocannons. The other issue is how to make your marine actually hold/carry the autocannon - not so easy unless you're using a converted heavy weapon marine with appropriat arms in the first place. As this is Chaos, one easy solution is the 'gun arm' - the marine's whole arm is replaced with a shoulder-mounted weapon. Looks great, and very Chaosy.

dude, they are out already

no need for special arms, by the looks of them, they use a boltgun style grip, but tbh the forgeworld power armour models i think would look just as good in a chaos army

some of the GK heavy weapons would work with little conversion. You wont have any of the cool backpacks but the psilencer converted would look nice.

kinda cheap if you buy more bits from Blackdagger

Wouldn't buying the autocannons from the defiler work as well, just adjust them some what since they already have the chaos look to them.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need

Yes, except that at 6cm long, the defiler autocannons are rather large for infantry weapons. This is Chaos, so you may like the 'enormous gun' look, but be careful.

Solution 2 :

(Just add a long barrel to a HB - a round magazine helps)

Do what I did, buy imperial guard autocannons and glue them directly onto the arms while the other had holds a pistol or melee weapon.
