I use Badger "Regdab Needle Juice" and while I don't remember what I paid for it, I definitely didn't find it cost prohibitive. You can also use gun oil, but chances are it costs the same or more.

I've been using 'Bones Speed Cream' which is a skateboard bearing oil that I just had kicking around when I first got into airbrushing. This one tiny bottle (13cc capacity) has lasted me over a decade of lubricating my skateboard bearings and now the airbrush too!
I'd be perfectly happy to throw £5-10 at a bottle considering it will last so long.
Theres a brand that goes by 'superiour airbrush lube' as a name, which is what everythingairbrush.com stock.
You just need some good quality, ultra fine lubricating medium that wont play havoc with paints.

'Ain't nothing crazy about me but my brain. Right brain? Riight! No not you right brain! Right left brain? Right!... Okay then lets do this!!

I would stronly reccomend against "oil" based lubricants. I cant speak for the others who have indicated that they use them, but I have find it to create some bad reactions.

I use this stuff;

Last time I bought a tube of it was close to three years ago and I still have close to 2/3's of a tube left. It is safe to use for solvent based and acrylic based paints. Picking it up in the UK should be no problem either.
