In terms of marks and cult troops, Nurgle is the best, followed by Slaneesh, followed by Khrone, followed by Tzeentch. However, I'm not sure if just taking an undivided army isn't a better choice, as you can still take MoN on your expensive, heavy hitting troops (such as Obliterators) while taking other, better options elsewhere (such as MoS on bikes or other fast assault units).

Well, I say Slaanesh: sex, drugs, and rock'n roll. NM are not the best troop units but the IoE gives FnP to units with the MoS. Bikers are great here.

I'd go Nurgle (a parody of the abrahamic god) or Slaanesh (an interesting spin off of Satan/Lucifer/whatever-the-hell-you-want-to-call-him/it/her/whatever). These two gods I find to be the most intriguing. Tzeentch makes for a close second for me (though in the CSM codex, he kind of falls short of everything...). Khorne I wouldn't even consider. A raging buffoon with an oversized weapon spouting crap about something he calls "martial honor." Stupid.

Come up with your own Chaos deity!

It certainly can be done within the realm of the lore - just keep in mind to not create your deity to be anywhere near as powerful as the 4 Chaos Gods. And no, your deity does not need to be 'aligned' with any Chaos God, though of course you can do that

EDIT: Oh yeah, game rules...well just count them however you like; you can always just call them Chaos Undivided or say their abilities are similar to a certain Chaos Gods' and then use theirs.

Actually, I like Netsurfer733's idea.

You could have the God of Nonconformism, which is powered by humanity's desire of uniqueness. Very few people want to be just another face in the crowd. They rape and kill because most people don't do that.

Or you could have the God of Conformism, who is the opposite of the God of Nonconformism. Think of mob psychology. When everyone else is doing something, you do it too because.... I dunno, everyone else is doing it. They're going on a murderous rampage. They don't know how it started, but they keep going because if one person stops everyone else glares at them.

Maybe you could have the God of Pity. These Astartes are egotistical nutcases who look down on and pity any beings who aren't members of their warband. They feel obligated to put these 'lesser beings' out of their misery.

Maybe you could have the God of Envy. Its a warband of depressed, downtrodden and generally mopy Astartes who envy everyone besides them. They've deluded themselves into thinking that they're the least fortunate beings in the galaxy, and everyone else is unfairly better off then they are. Jealousy motivates them to slaughter randomly, going from world to world and brutally murdering 'those ungrateful bastards'.

so that means id have to go with ether slanesh or Tzeentch......... so i would say tzeentch out of the gods id say him or nurgal but im not a fan of nurgal ether

I really like Khorne for simplicity. Run across the table and chop the enemies heads off.

I'm for equal opportunity Undivided, personally I go with Night Lords though my buddy is working on some really good Iron Warriors as well. I would suggest reading up on the different traitor legions and major warbands and find one that really catches your eye and go with that, they might follow the chaos god you didn't expect but still really like.
