I've had some chaos marines siting in my closet for some time and I want to paint them but I don't know what chaos god they should worship.
Any ideas?

Ok , sigh , I already know how this will turn out . All the cool kids worship Khorne or Nurgle or Slaanesh because their fancy poles actually do something worthwhile .

I would suggest collecting a Nurgle-worshipping Death Guard army.

The Death Guard are one of the original Traitor Legions and devote followers of Nurgle, the Plague God. Death hangs over them at all times, spurring them to live every minute as though it's their last. It very well might be. Tzeentch is Nurgle's nemesis; Tzeentch is driven by hope, whereas Nurgle is driven by the defiance of despair.

Pardon? Well that is up for debate I think Well I dare say you should worhsip Tzeentch! Because we all like Thousand Sons and the fancy magic thy can do, and beside the fluff are very nice.

Also, you can worship the whole pantheon as chaos undivided. You don't have to choose a specific chaos god.

What you can do for example is have a chaos undivided army, and have specific characters like a sorcerer, your chaos lord or little cultists favour specific gods.

but Slaanesh gets you laid! just remember that

If you go for chaos undevided then go for word bearers. I love fluff for them is kool. Not to mention tons of cultists and daemons as allies!

Around 80 not quite as tough Undivided worshipers.

Go with the numbers.

Slaanesh is my chosen chaos god. Guitar guns and rocking through the ages. Not to mention ignores cover attacks.

People seem to think Slaanesh is about rocking out or lots of sex.

Yeah sounds like nurgle. Have you read his fluff? The most forgiving of the four. The happiest, most likly to bless you. Best paint job. His daemons look amazing, plus they are pretty much parasites. He probably has the biggest cultist army outta the four. Oh and his wife is the eldar goddess of healing and (I think...) Beauty. Do you want me to continue?

Ok guys, rather than fanboying over which god we all think is best (it's slaanesh but anyway) the best thing you can do is read up on the fluff for each god and the units they come with and then pick from there also consider which will be the most fun to paint and convert and also which will be the most enjoyable on the table top

If you still can’t decide then remember this:

Which other god gives you sound cannons that rupture organs, lightning fast reflexes and all the boobs you could ever want. That’s right, none

Any. None. All. Some. Does it matter? Why limit yourself to one? Why force yourself to use all?

Let the gods choose for you.
Just roll a 10 sided die until you get a 6 7 8 or 9. Then play the chaos god whose holy number that is.
And...make sure you do it over a freshly-killed human corpse.

Khorne. Let me show you some stuff that comes with his worship....


Or you could do Tzeentch, but those fancy magics wont earn you kittens.

The one your parents worship, obviously.

Nonconformity is the devil.

Fluff wise and looks wise, Tzeentch.
Game wise, Nurgle.

But all in all, common sense tells me to paint them undivided. You would be able to use them as you see fit.
