Used the index but still can't find in the 6th Ed book what the BS is for the Quadgun or the Skyfire Lascannon when you buy them as part of a fortification.

Page number please?

There isnt a BS, because they do not fire by themselves. You need a model in base contact to fire them, which then uses their own BS to fire.

Unless you're talking about the twin linked Icarus that is an emplaced weapon on a Fortress of Whatsitude in which case it can be fired on auto at BS2 in line with the rules for emplaced weapons.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Gun emplacements for buildings are on pg 96 of the BRB. There it tells you BS2 if it fires on its own.

Pg 105 talks about gun emplacements, which have no WS and it states it can be fired by a model in b2b.

Now, I know an ADL isn't a building, but I feel like it should be able to fire automatically as welled. In the section on 105 it lists the statline so that the emplacement can be shot/assaulted. It's reasonable to believe that it would be capable of doing, and all the fortification entires call the weapons gun emplacements.

This very well could be my interpretation. If I'm wrong, then I and several others have been playing it incorrectly.

That's "Emplaced" guns, which is different than "Gun Emplacements". Emplaced guns can, if not being fired manually, autofire at the nearest enemy with a BS2 if the building is occupied.

Gun Emplacements are not auto-fire and so you need a model with a BS in contact with it to fire it. The fortifications entries call the guns (that come with the fortification) "emplaced" guns not emplacements. The emplacements are the extras you purchase (that do not auto-fire). It's a subtle distinguishment, but they do mean totally separate things.

Yep, after reading more stemming from the OP question I have come to the same conclusion. Glad my inadvertent cheating didn't win me any games.
