Ah, babies vs. cats vs. dogs. Don't care which one, we're all cleaning up their gak, vomit, and piss any way you go. Beyond that, just shut up.

I have indeed had recent cat-related hobby damage, although it was not as horrendous as the OP's experience.
When building terrain I collect all of my scraps in a box along with other useful bits and materials. These are things like still useful bits of plasticard, craft sticks, chunks torn off of a structure for damage (that makes for great rubble later). Far from a refuse bin, my scraps box is the place where pieces that are not immediately useful and are worth saving are collected.
The other week one of my wife's cats was accidentally locked in my hobby room...and he felt that the scraps box was the next best thing to a litter box. At least he didn't chew up any of my miniatures or knock things over. And, as my wife kindly pointed out, all of the cat mess was handily contained in a box that could be easily removed and thrown away. I guess it is easy to have a glass-is-half-full perspective when it isn't your scraps box soaked in cat filth.

To those thinking my cat stole the apothecary due to 'nip, he was stolen way before 'nip was introduced. And my cat is loyal like a dog who doesn't have to go outside: greets me at the door, is affectionate to everyone, thinks with his stomach, and loves to play. His version of play is 'smack Brian in the face and chew on his fingers,' but it's still "play". Lol. My cat is definitely not a normal, aloof cat. Probably why we get along so well.

Awww, you just made the story less amusing!

Wouldn't you use the same process that you do to strip paint? Big bucket of simple green should take care of the kitty treats.

Sounds like my cat, except with her there is no smacking in the face. I have had aloof cats before and i think it is mainly due to how they are treated. I have spent alot of time with my cat and when we are outside 80% of the time if i call her to go to a different part of the garden she comes.
Friendly cats are the best pets, I think i lke them because they have their own mind and agenda.
On the gamers having cats, maybe it's because cats aren't pack animals like most gamers

Battlefoam makes a foam set that fits the SDE box for the contents of said box...
When in place, it lifts the lid about 1/4 inch.. so, you get to avoid that issue... I guess...

My cats love to play with my foam. Always find little foam squares around the house. They don't mess with the minis though.
They do complain whenever I paint instead of paying attention to them, but then again so does the wife.

I feel lucky in that all of my cats are very careful when they walk around my painting area, and I haven't had one pet-related disaster yet. Though one of them seems to like drinking my painting water....

Only a fool believes that he can control a cat. Cats are barely domesticated and mostly just cohabitate with humans because it is convenient as opposed to dogs, for example, which have been domesticated for a far longer period of time. And for the record, my wife has cats. I don't trust them. One too many times I have been tripped on the stairs by a cat suddenly darting between my legs. It's just hungry indeed...hungry for my death.

Our new kitten enjoys the taste of citadel paints. To this end she insists on sitting around my work area and trying to a paw into the paint water, a paw that she will then lick clean and dip in again etc etc etc.
She also apparently enjoys the taste of painted models and to this extent has eaten the tip off the lance of my island of blood highelf prince and i have even caught here chewing on the smoke stack of my vintage empire steam tank.
Also one of our cats(we have 3) but im not sure which vomited on the steamtanks scenic base although fourtunatley said tank was away in safe storage(i.e. my cuboard) at the time. The worst part is that before i could clean it up the kitten ate it. To be fare it was all biscuit and not properly digested.

Had my friend's cat mess up the board as we were playing D&D with miniatures. She sort of lay down on everything. So she ended up being the boss monster.
