Does anyone else see the irony of 40k fans arguing about lack of originality in a product?
There's almost nothing new under the sun, especially when it comes to story telling. There's very few movies or books can't be traced back to classical or even ancient stories, they just adapt them to make them apear a bit more modern but the foundation has been around for hundreds if not thousands of years.
Disney's touch isn't in creating things new cloth, instead where they shine is how they present the tale as a complete fluid production. Pretty much like how every top tier ballet company does swan lake or an orchestra plays mozart. The art is in the presentation (narration) of the story and the mood they set that makes them unique, not the root material itself.

I loved the Hulk his brutal simplicity was a nice contrast to the more intelligent super heroes, I don't see how the movie screwed him up he's like Jekyll and Hyde and the movie did a great job of showing his split personalities you have a casual, fairly normal, calm scientist and bat gak insane monster. And Loki's campy over the top persona was perfectly appropriate for the tone of the movie. And with about half a dozen main character you're going to need a fairly simple story in order to give time with getting know the characters.

Really? I thought Iron Man was the comic relief, I mean there was a few funny moments with the Hulk but most of the time with the Hulk was just watching him smash and yell.

I thought the Harry Potter movies were a lot of fun to watch and most film critics seem to enjoyed them, it was also a financial success so I wouldn't call it an abomination.

I never got in to the Harry Potter films. I think it was the horrible acting from the first two that killed the series for me and I never was able to get back into them.

Yeah, I mean, I never got the Harry Potter thing* myself, but they were a critical and commercial success, and wildly loved by their fan base, so calling them an abomination is a bit much.
I think us geeks more than most people confuse 'I don't like this' with 'this is bad and no-one should like it'.
* I read and enjoyed the first book, but honestly it then felt like a story that was done. I saw a few of the movies after that and never could shake that feeling. Character bloat and increasingly overblown stakes that ultimately came back to the same conflict from the first book.

A screenwriter has already produced a 40- to 50-page treatment for Star Wars Episode 7, the first of the new trilogy that was announced in connection with the Disney acquisition of Lucasfilm (see "Disney Acquires Lucasfilm!"), according to Vulture. The studio hopes to get the three central stars from the first film to play the characters much older: Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill.

Yes, but for a rival studio. As Paramount have hopes of continuing theri successful reboot I wonder how alright they'd be with him going into to bat for, effectively, their biggest opposition.
