There you go talking about yourself in the third person again.

Good game, even with the bad matchup and bad luck. What do you think about dropping a few points to fit in more biovores? I could see another unit of 2 being more useful than 2 ymgarls and the trygon prime upgrade, or maybe the devourers.

How do you think the same game would have gone if Purge the Alien weren't the primary objective? I have a hard time seeing you lose when objectives are the main concern.

A great view. I do love me some competetive Tyranids, but Kill Points seem to be the death of us...

I do love your battle reports. But the beard-mo-thing...oh god, the beard-mo-thing...

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

@Siphen

Yeah, haha, I just cut and paste it, sorry about that! It does sound stupid! haha

Biovores are fantastic, I could easily see running 2x3 or 2x2 as a really solid choice. I think I will go back to 8 Ymgarls, shift some stuff around and get some Gargoyles in there, too.

I think Nids are going to be rock solid this edition, just a few kinks to work out.

@Jifel

Yeah, when we rolled up kill points I was like, damn. It was still really close, but any other mission I think I would have won. We'll run it again and see.

@Motyak

Hahahaha, it is ridiculous, isn't it?! I grow it out on occasion for a laugh.

Hey, I run 2x3 or sometimes even 3x3 biovores. They are an awesome unit, even back in 5th.

Too bad this time Reece. You're get him next time....maybe.

Tyranids are really benefiting from the changes to vehicles in a big way (similar to Daemons, although they got some extra help), the fearless buff and the new psychic powers.

I expect to see a lot of them being dusted off as the 'only range anti tank an elite' problem starts to disappear.

How was his DE HQ getting a 2+ rerollable save? I thought they FAQed that.

Good batrep. I am wondering though if you weren't a little too cagey in this match. Kept wondering when you were going to push in on him with your army. Perhaps the loss of the ymgarls threw you off, not sure.

They FAQd that you cannot cast it on DE units but when cast on eldar unit with DE IC attached its still perfectly legal. Contentious but legal.

I thought for sure the mega-mustache would turn the tide of the battle... should have gone for lamb chop burns too, then you would have won easily!

@Jim

Yeah, Frankie has been handing my ass lately! Haha, it's all good though, I usually beat him because he has bad dice, he's had this hot streak coming for a while now.

@Calypso2ts

I totally agree. They are very, very good this edition. I am thoroughly enjoying playing them.

@Deez

What Winterman said. I don't like it one bit, but it is legal.

@Winterman

I may have played it a bit too conservatively, to be honest. That Harliestar is bananas though, and unless I could get Swarmy in there under beneficial circumstances, it was going to be an ass kicking my way. That last turn, I thought I had it as he didn't have Fortune and I have invisibility, but those stupid Venom Cannons did Swarmy in before he could do his thing! haha

@Bladwalker

Hahaha, yes, just need a mullet and then I will be unstoppable! Muahaha!

Take some Raveners in your army with rending claws. Two units of six or one big unit of nine are very powerful.Fast and deadly!

Dat stache!

Seems like you got a little boned mostly by dice. Doom usually does way more than that, and Frankie was making saves on his harlies lie a boss.

Next time he's yours!

It's spelled "cavalry." NOT "calvary."

@Kaempes

I like Raveners a lot, the only thing holding me back is their vulnerability to strength 8. I think we'll see less of that now in 6th, but it is still fairly prevalent. They are super fast, though!

@Zygrot

Yeah, Frankie had good dice, but he is a damn good player, too! Haha, and I would have had him had it now been KP. Oh well, it was still fun, next time!

@KingCracker

It is a super easy paint scheme, I would be happy to share it.

Skin

White Primer
2 Coats Purple Wash
Drybrush Warlock Purple
Light Drybrush Tentacle Pink

Carapace (layered up)

Bestial Brown
Sankebite Leather
Bleached Bone
White

Teeth and Claws

Bleached Bone
Highlighted with White

Tongue/Tentacles/Eyes/etc.

Enchanted Blue
Highlighted with Ice Blue

Gloss Varnish to seal it all and give it a wet look.

Pretty straightforward, and it comes out nice.
