Well, I suppose it may be stronger than elsewhere. Off the top of my head, I cannot recall stuff like names changing in the midst of the story from anywhere else.
That said, it's the job of the editor to make sure something like that gets corrected, so there's the possibility that whoever checked the DoW novel simply screwed up, and other authors may make just as many mistakes, but they get corrected. *shrug*

Well, that could be the case. But I would assume all BL authors have pretty much the same proofreaders. They are all going through the same publisher, which does the final proofreading IIRC.
So why Goto's horribleness got let through, repeatedly I might add, and nobody elses seems strange.

I'm disappointed that the "transforming" vehicles are simply examples of poor cohesion in describing a vehicle across pages. I wanna see a Rhino turn into a Dreadnought, dammit!
As for the multilaser thing, I refuse to see it as a big deal, especially in the light of Rogue Trader games. At least it's an Imperial Trooper carrying a friggin' Imperial weapon. I have a metal model of a SM with an Autogun, as well as one with a Shuriken Catapult.

From Eldar Prophesy:
He also has an Eldar commit suicide by breaking his waystone.
He has an Eldar spontaneously respawning as the Warp Spider Phoenix Lord.
He has an entire Craftworld run by a Slaaneshi cult, who are hereditary rulers.
He has a non-psychic Farseer.
Every third sentence requires a reference to the glossary at the back of the book.
From Warrior Brood:
He also has an Assault Marine (Admittedly, Deathwatch, but still) winning an aerial duel with a Tyranid Harridan bio-titan. It's not so much the Assault-marine-beats-up-a-titan thing, but it's been hammered home to the point of being belaboured: Jump Packs Don't Let You Fly.
He has (although my memory is fuzzier on this one) an Inquisitor mind-melding with the Hive Mind and coming out sane and healthy.

I doubt he feels any sort of regret. He just goes on slaying foe after foe, so much so that daemons are afraid to challenge him in their own domain. How is that not Mary Sue?
Matter of taste, I guess.
It's not Mary Sue. It's just stupid.
So, sadly is a lot of recent GW publishings. Admittedly, it was never the greatest, but at least the old stuff had a certain tongue-in-cheekness and sense of irony that the newer stuff seems to completely lack.

I would assume they have quite a number of editors, just like they have lots of freelancing authors submitting material. That being said, I'm not so much "up to date" on the repeated part - I thought the transforming vehicle thingie was a one-time-case.
All the rest (see Miko's list, though I'm fairly sure it is not a complete one ... wasn't there also an Eldar Gravtank being disabled by kids with rocks?) is just a matter of personal interpretation, which every BL author does, just as much as the fans do. The term "Abnettverse" springs to mind, though I am told his later books supposedly contain fewer deviations from the studio material. In the end, it's all a matter of personal preferences and cherrypicking what version we like most.

People complain about not getting good fluff that reflects the background, and then complain when that is exactly what they are given!
People just want to hate Matt Ward because nerd rage is very volumous and can easily fill voids in souls.
I have identified 2 errors in your post. You mispelled "voluminous". And nothing can fill the void Matt Ward has left in my soul.

After all this time, I simply assume that if people don't see a problem with ward they haven't read his books or they're ignorant of all the fluff he trampled on.
Or they're really young and in that more is better phase.
Sorta like people who liked the soul drinkers books.

The problem with Draigo is... hang on, I have this written out somewhere...
Ah, it's a whole explanation of the problems people have with Matt Ward's fluff (quite aside from the Blood Knights thing)
Furyou Miko wrote:The problem isn't so much that Ward made the Knights' rules match their fluff... it's that he sucks at implementing his fluff.
Take Crowe for example. The whole idea of a badass swordsman who relies on pure skill instead of using fancy magic weapons is awesome. The idea of a knight of purity who wields an evil sword, but doesn't allow himself to be corrupted by it is awesome. Trying to combine both concepts on one character? You need a shoehorn scaled to a dreadknight.
Draigo, the Grand Master, Elite of Elites, Badass of Badasses, who was raised to power when he single-handedly defeated a Daemon Primarch. That's... completely freaking ridiculous, but if it wasn't so Mary Sueish, it would also be pretty awesome.
Draigo, the Lost Champion, who is cursed to wander hell in eternal damnation but, through supreme efforts of will, can return for short periods to save the world in its hour of need is a cool concept. A little repetitive by this point (The Legion of the Damned are basically the same thing), but not an inherently bad idea.
Draigo, the Master Tactitian who can always direct the best units in his army to the best location, and uses unorthodox tactics to sweep victory from the hands of the enemy (because seriously, Paladins scoring? Scoring units are meant to be the ones who can stay there, dig in, and hold that objective, while the Paladins' job is to sweep enemiesout of the way so the regular troops can secure it) isn't original (CREEED!), but again, it's an awesome character concept and it's nice that he's not the warrior equivalent of a squishy wizard for a change.
Draigo, the Complete Badass Who Rules The Chapter But Only Sometimes Shows Up And Had To Be Promoted In Absentia Because He Was Stuck In Hell, And Can Make Everything Do Exactly What He Wants It To... Well done, Ward. You've managed to make the literature equivalent of kedgeree. Haddock is nice. Creamy rice is good. Boiled eggs are pleasant. Trying to combine them all in the same dish just leaves you with something bland and tasteless that can't decide whether it's yellow or white and thinks it might like to be spicy at some point.
