The Dezirous Legion is my Chaos Space Marine Legion. How do I paint it you may ask? What colors do I use to make the legion you ask? Well Im going to tell you Now in this Painting Tutorial.


1) I Prime my Chaos Models with Chaos Black Primer
Then i wait till the primer dries.

2) After The model is dried, I use Kommando Kahki and Boltgun Metal to paint the 1st layer. I mix the 2 paints together to give it a dark and shiny Kahki color.

3) After applying Layer 1 on, I put at least 2 more layers on the Armor so that the Primer is barely visible. Armor is completer in base color

4) Next i Take my Dwarft Bronze and paint the details of the model. Note: Make sure you use a Thin paint brush for this one because you can make a mistake by painting the armor its self.

5) After applying the Dwarft Bronze, I combine Mech Red and Blood Red paint for the gun, chain sword, haired helments. But i 1st apply the Mech red paint so that the Combination oc the 2nd layer will show better.

6) After doing that, I paint the gun and swords with Boltgun Metal and Dwarft Bronze.

7) After doing steps 1-6, Wash the entire armor down with Devlin Mud wash. (if you paint the Horns White, this will look good wiht Devlin mud Wash and Dabad Black). Then Wash the rest of the model in Dabad Black Wash.

Model Complete.

But if your paint a model with a power weapon, Follow these same Steps except Step 5-6.

Power Weapon Paint Steps

1) Combine Orkhid Shade and Skull white together. Note: use more Skull White than Orkhid Shade or the color wont come out right.

2) after that, to it again Till you get a ghostly greanish and semi blue hue. Now Apply the paint to the blade.

3) Let the weapon dry till its time to wash it.

4) Combine Dark Angels Green and Bolt gun metal together and water it down EXTREMELY good. This will be the Wash for the weapon.

5) apply to the weapon and wait for an hour or so to dry.

6) Blow off the extra wash.

7) Paint the Staff part in any color you desire, but i will go with BoltGun Metal, depending on what model your painting.

Weapon Finished.


Note: If your Painting a Vehicle, I suggest you Spary Paint it till the model is coated. If you dont, then your waisting a Good amount of Paint when using a tile for your paints.

I know that, but the problem is that i dont even know who to use the img tag wiht a picture.

Small tip, for the gun and/or sword/other metal, I would first apply boltgun metal, then wash with badab black/ nuln oil, and finally highlight with mithril silver. This makes for a nice, simple technique with great results.

I guess so but idk what nuln oil and mithril silver paint looks like

Nuln oil (called Badab black before GW made their stupid name change) is a black wash. Mithril Silver is the old name for what they now call Runefang SIlver. It's probably the lightest shade of the silver-y metals and thus makes for good highlighting and a nice contrast against the black-washed boltgun metal. Give it a try!

Lookin' pretty good! I would just recommend the occasional flash of a brighter color, say an orange/red or lightish blue. Also, feel free to use washes on the armor/gold (I love washes) and then highlight with a lighter color than the base.

I barely use gold on my other space marines UNLESS their KHORNE BERZERKERS!!!!
but other wise, i use Dwarft Bronze for the other CSM

A Heldrake, Warpsmith, Forgefiend/maulerfiend, Deamon Prince, Dark Apostle, Ahriman, Chaos Mutilators, more Rhinos, Preaditors, Land raiders, more bikers, new CSM Battleforce, CSM Raptors/ Warp talons, Thousand sons(getting the upgrade pack now), Titans, Chaos cultis

Fyi this is an old post. Plus I don't know how to make a link work with a img tag. and also I don't know the new rage paint names that well yet.
