This doesn't seem like a particularity well thought out KS.
I can't help but think that having at least one or two actual miniatures would have helped push this thing higher. There's only so much confidence inspired by a 3D CAD drawing/model...
Still, glad to see they're doing well!

so you would rather have a COMPANY come into KS and premake everything and just hope on and sell product? Thats not in the spirit of kickstarter at all. Its an idea that you present then others understand your dream or vision and decide to back it so you can create it. Seems like you want a commercialize Kickstarter. That takes away from the original concept.

I think you misread, not everything. But one or two minis on hand would be great.

I think what's important here is that they are showing the most important thing at this stage: that they can take feedback, integrate it and communicate with the public.
After things are funded, then the question will be, can they produce? If they meet that hurdle (and I really hope they do), they will be in a good spot. Just remember, before Adam Poots launched his bullet train of a kickstarter, he had a failed kickstarter and built his business (virtual) brick by brick.
I'm willing to take a chance on the sculpts that I'm seeing now that really look like good conceptualizations, but there is no question that once sculpts get out there and painted, it puts them in a better position for the future.
Seriously though, there is no question that they have grown in leaps and bounds since the start of the kickstarter. Just compare the original damsels, which had a tendency to be very, very static, to the last sculpts developed during the campaign.
All that said, it really comes down to showing they can do it: some of the figures really will be challenging to make into physical sculpts;
Those stiletto heels? That's... going to be interesting to see how that comes out.

Deanna;
Biggest problem I have with this sculpt (and the same mistakes appear on others) is that a number of the details added later do not interact with the body. The strap and buckle on the thigh (and the pouches) do not look real. They should be digging into the thigh. Some real world examples of people wearing straps or even bracelets should be used. Another obvious one is the way the hair seems to suggest movement, but the rest of the body appears to be still including the cloth that is touching the ground.

Eh, I dunno. If she was dropping into a low crouch one could see that pattern of movement. She's on her shins and wearing a long loincloth, it's got to go somewhere.
While I don't want to say the criticism is unwarranted (it certainly is well reasoned), I think it's a bit... exacting, given the field. I scarcely can complain, I am the proud owner of a pin-up Architect, and she is all kinds of makes-no-sense but still six flavors of awesome.

Some interesting things going on, with a big update tomorrow morning; a rather nice flying mount has been added,
And the corseted mini above? It looks like she is now being added to all pledges above $10 as a freebie. I never say no to a woman wearing a corset as a shirt. Wait, that came out wrong...
The mount above is another great example of feedback taken in and implemented quickly. I continue to be impressed with the responsiveness of the women running this, most especially Misty, who seems to handle the greatest part of the Kickstarter communications.

Where does it say that? I'm having difficulty browsing the Kickstarter in work (for obvious reasons!) and find a lot of them get pretty cluttered.
What's the optimum buy in for figures?

Optimum really depends on what you are looking to get out of it, honestly. Personally I like enough of the new figures to justify the $50 pledge (which is 5 minis), but $80 is definitly a better price, since it's up to 10 minis.
The free figure is discussed in an update yesterday;
We are halfway to unlocking Tara WELCOME NEW GUYS WELCOME! Here's a 4 hour stretch. Be serious about it don't just up your pledge and then pull later PLEASE. It's 6 PM CST if we unlock Tara by 10PM CST I will give EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE above Grinch reward level a free Allison Damsel. Hit those boards!
Humbly yours, Misty-

Now the "Chike" is not a model I like, mainly due to the fact that if it was actually using that sword in that grip, it'd break its wrist. The blade of the sword should point along the line generated by the 'V' between thumb and first finger so that the shock of impact is transmitted back up the arm safely.
That Frankenhooker, however, is pure win. I'll have to check the site again and see if it looks atainable - is it an unlock that they stand a chance of getting? If so I'm going to have to update my pledge to include it. (Which is great, when this KS started I really didn't like more than 1 or 2 of the models. Now they are doing more classic type cheesecake, i.e. models with more clothes on than off, my attention has really been grabbed.

With 14 hours to go, the girls are certainly keeping busy! They updated with one of the WIPs that I have been most looking forward to, Mummyria,
The WIP of the Turtle Twins is actually really growing on me as well... for only $40, that's going to be one huge freakin hunk of resin;
I'm also rather looking forward to how the next concept art is realized (the $20,000 stretch goal);

And I forgot to mention, the last unlocked figure was... riding a polar bear.

I already have this one. I built this kit in 2008 and it was already at least 2 years old at that point.
Now, I'm all for looking at others work for inspiration, but this seems a little too close to what the original sculpt looked like.
However having said that, I really like this figure.

Wow, that is a striking resemblance. I found that on the web under "Tandem Twins" (along with some other things that made me remember that the Japanese are... different). I let the folks over there know, but I honestly don't know what will happen with that. The thing is, all their miniatures are based off of licensed artwork, so I have no idea who properly has copyright priority, or if they even can change that design...
Damn shame, I was really looking forward to seeing how that mini came out. Given the resemblance to their own artwork, it may turn out to be a case of "only so many ways to skin a cat", as it were.

The CGI drawings are nice, but how do they look in hand?
Some of them are kinda meh, but there are a couple of winners in there, Franken hooker being one.
figures, please.
I'd like two of the blond and brunette, spanking each other and those other naughty things they do in the art.
