I've been wondering if anyone plays 40k near goose creek, SC.

I don't have a car and I can't get much further than northwoods mall.

If you are on NNPTC thats even better so hit me up.

Hey man, I'm an instructor at Prototype (SPU) and there are a ton of 40k players in the area. The only issue is the mostly accessible gaming venue to car-less students is the Green Dragon, and if you've spoken with the owner you know he's not a fan of Games Workshop. Your best bet is to hop in a cab on Saturdays (around 2pm-ish is when I show up) and head to either: Dotgames or Hobbytown USA. Won't be a long or expensive trip or anything, they're both within spitting distance of the Citadel Mall. I can't make it every Saturday (I'm at Prototype, eventually you'll understand) but I normally make it about 2 times a month for Saturdays and the occasional Wednesday (day) or Tuesday (evening.) Another idea is to game in the BEQs. Lots of space in the common areas as I recall (used to D&D a bit there) and while there's occasional nerd hate just tell them to eff off or whatever. Either way bring some friends, because with all the Nukes, GC, NC and Charleston proper are pretty much nerd central (in an awesome way.) Are you a new arrival?

I'm not a new arrival, I just haven't found anyone out here who is interested in playing 40k. I haven't exactly figured out how to network here and find players.

I know hobbytown is a $35 cab fare so going alone is cost prohibitive.

I'm really hoping another NNPTC student is active on dakka and stumbles on this.

I'm over in James Island and about to start playing 40k. (Given I can get my stuff together and make an appropriate list) Would love to meet up with fellow dakka users as I will no doubt be a total scrub when the time comes.

Hobbytown USA is where I go, if only because there are more tables for 40k players and less Yu-gi-oh players (they're a bit lower on the hierarchy of nerd around here). The store is actually staying open tuesday night (the 13th) all night because us on CREW A on the 635 are swapping shifts to a night shift. So its all night gaming and caffeine, also, painting and building and modeling.

What? Which Hobbytown? West Ashley or Mt. P? I'm totally down for an all night paintathon! Which is needed, since I have so much left unpainted.

Its the one in west ashley, on Sam Rittenburg. Guys from my crew will be there but all are welcome, we should also have a tv and either some halo or smash brothers going. I also plan on bringing lots of soda and a coffee machine ha There are about 10 tables with more in the back of the store that can be set up, so please come on down

I grew up in Charleston. Good to know there will be gaming there if I ever come back.
