Thanks for the responses guys
LValx: I wasn't aware of the limitation on the allies, so one
HQ only, that's ok, can pull that libby to add more troops to the board. The tough part is trying to get 4 squads on the board with the three sterns, as they eat alot of points. Will have to try some reconfigureing
jdjamesdean: Looks like I need to re-read the allies section, missed the one
HQ slot limitation ;(
Automatically Appended Next Post: So I did some rejiggering with the list and came up with the following. It puts more boots on the ground, has 7 pods for 4 pods on round one, and should still pack a punch. Still lacking in
AA though.
Crimson Fists: 1355
HQ: Pedro Kantor
Elites:
(1st) 10 Man Sternguard Squad
4x Combi-Melta, 5x Combi-Flamer, Sgt with Combi-Melta, Power Maul, and Melta Bombs. Drop Pod
(2nd) 10 Man Sternguard Squad
4x Combi-Melta, 5x Combi-Plasma, Sgt with Combi-Melta, Power Maul, and Melta Bombs. Drop Pod
Troops:
(1st) 10 Man Tactical Squad
Flamer,
HB, Sgt with Combi-Flamer, Power Maul, and Melta Bombs. Drop Pod
(2nd) 10 Man Tactical Squad
Flamer,
HB, Sgt with Combi-Flamer, Power Maul, and Melta Bombs. Drop Pod
Blood Angels Detachment: 642pts
Librarian
Divination, Probaby Blood Lance, Combi-Flamer and Force Stave
Elites:
(1st) Sanguinary Priest
Combi-Flamer, Chain Sword
(2nd) Sanguinary Priest
Combi-Flamer, Chain Sword
Troops:
(1st) 7 Man Assault Squad
Flamer, Sgt with Storm Shield, Bolt Pistol, and Melta Bombs. Drop Pod
(2nd) 6 Man Assault Squad
Flamer, Vanilla Sgt. Drop Pod
(3rd) 6 Man Assault Squad
Flamer, Vanilla Sgt. Drop Pod
So the idea here, after the helpfull coments above, is to alpha strike in 4 full units on Round One. I'm thinking definitley the two Sternguard Squads, then probably a tactical squad and the first blood angels assault squad with all three
ICs (thats 10 men for the pod).
The Sterns will do what they do best and blow things up, with the 5x Combi-flamer squad providing wall of death coverage vs assaults. The tactical squad's weapons can be switched, but I figured on first run thoug I'd load them with anti-infantry as there is plenty of anti-tank
on the board already.
The assault Squad will help the flamer Stern squad by spreading out to protect vulnerable flanks and or serving as a meat-shield, while protecting the
IC's.
Hopefully the libby will be in range to give divination to the plasma/melta stern squad, and the Priest can be placed in the squad to maximize cover and
FNP bubble for surrounding units.
The remaining assault squads will serve as late game objective grabs, or just pile in to serve as distraction units or to tie up hordes so I'll get another round of sternguard ammo into them.
What do you guys think? Have I missed another rule with the duel
FOC? Does the list look workable?
