What are they capable of as in tactics wise and stealth, and what sort of weapons do they pack?

Come into my web, said the spider to the fly.
Come rest your wings, and let us talk eye to eye.
For I am a spider, and you are the fly. Now that you are here, let us sit, and say hi.
But I have have no morsel to share, nor anything to eat. But wait, what is that stickiness upon your feet.
Ah now I have you, now I can eat. Now I can enjoy you, or store you as meat.
For I am the spider, and you are the fly. How else could it have gone, between one such as you, and one such as I.

Kommandos can operate stealthily for long periods of time. Snikrot kept his band together and raiding Imperial holdings on Armageddon for the entire duration between Ghazghkull's two invasions, so at least fifty years. They don't possess any particular camouflage tech or inherent abilities, just plenty of Morky cunning brutality (or was that brutal cunning?). They're distinguished from other orks by their use of ambushes, hit-and-run attacks, supply disruption, and other sorts of covert-ops style tactics.

As for equipment, they'll all be wielding choppas, of course. Some will have heavy weapons (rokkits, burnaz, big shootas) and most will have grenades or other explosives. A kommando boss with a big mek ally might have access to cloaking tech, detection gear, silenced shootas (unlikely though, as the noise is half the point), or some other kind of tactical gear.

Kommandos?

Commando - old game. You get a gun and cleanse the 4 levels. Get to shoot and throw grenades.

Maybe you should specify " Kommandos" a bit?

They are wied as unorky due to being sneaky and such from what I recall reading the Ork codex some time ago. And as for equipment I recon they wield choppas, assorted explosives and kits for setting traps and ambushes as needed. I think they will also carry camo equipment as needed.

They can operate as effectively as Space Marine Scouts if they're led well enough, can be armed with a big mix of Ork small arms and close combat weapons.

So it would be fluffy if they act as body guards to a war boss?

Could you see them capturing a Astarte on a raid or would they just kill any they find?

I'm playing with the idea of a torture/interrigation scene of a shot down Techmarine or a captured brother, which do you think is best?

I dont think you could justify having them as a bodyguard for a warboss as according to the codex 'Kommandos do not socialise with other Orks and sometimes even exile themselves for months from other tribes'. What Warboss wouldn't be in the middle of the waaagh stompin heads ?
Unless it was a Kommando Boss such as Snikrot.

Im writing a story about Ork Kommandos who try to start a revolution against Mad Urk Thraka they have to improvise a lot of weapons because Meks no longer supply them such as feeding a squig spices and throwing it causing its stomach acids to swell and explode

None taken, it will generally appear though as the subject, unlike Space Wolves, Thousand Sons and Primarchs, doesn't come up every day.

If you think it's over used, maybe you shouldn't include it in your quotes

The picture is silly and fun, but more on topic...

Ork Kommandos can be as effective at sneaking as just about any other race's stealth specialist. The difference is they do it through sheer skill as opposed to some biological enhancements, like say, Lictors, or technology like the Tau.

Despite the reputation of the common Ork as fodder (a role which they fill exceptionally well, being tough, brutal, and eager to fight), Ork specialists are very damned good at what they do. And they love their jobs.

For the most part I think they walk or run, since well you know Ork vehicels make a damned racket whenever they do something. And making noise is something you dont want to do as a kommando

Agreed with Trondheim, they might use them till they get closer, then sneak the rest of the way in.

I don't know of any fluff that supports that. On the tabletop, a Kommando squad has the same statline as boyz, just with better gear and USRs, and they can take a single Nob. However, there's nothing prohibiting a Kommando Nob squad from existing. They're just a lot rarer than the standard Nobz.

Kommandos have nobs, but not all Kommandos are nobs.

A Kommando Nob at work is an utter nightmare to behold.
