Does anyone have any suggestions on how to set up a space marine command squad? Just purchased one got a few different ideas on how I am going to field them. What do you think?

If it's IG or SM, I'd recomend not taking the SM one. However if you insist I'd take 4xplasma.

IG I'd take 4xplasma.

If you are space marines, if you are guard it is a whole big mess that has no definitive answer yet.

And everyone rides in a Chimera? Otherwise you are going to need to look at other options.

Or a Vendetta, or Guard the back lines. 24" range is still pretty good, esp when sitting behind an ADL. If doing that though Camo cloaks might be good

Honestly, I like the Fist, Medic, Banner, 2x special weapon and carapace armor more for IG. Granted, my IG are all on foot, but it makes them a nice support unit for the rest of my army.

I just give mine Regimental standard and lascannon. Any more, and they're just begging to get shot by something.

Keep em cheap, keep em useful, and make sure something else gets shot instead

You could put them on bikes and give them storm shields and some mixture of power weapons and thunder hammers, but that's more an 'I wonder what would happen if...' sort of thing than an actual suggestion, since it's a 350+pt unit before a similarly-geared Captain.

Actually, now that I think about it it's a nice 500-pt Deathstar unit, since everyone's T5/3+/3++/FNP at least...

And moves up to 24" a turn, and has nineteen power weapon or thunder hammer attacks on the charge...

I'd try building this as an experiment if my SM army weren't Dark Angels and actually had access to all these units.
