The Black Templars have, if rumors are to be believed, two successors thus far. Those being the White and Red Templars respectively.
This has not been confirmed of course as it is printed rumors so far.

Maybe something like this? Order of the Dragon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_the_Dragon

White with the red shoulders could be quite striking on the tabletop?

Catachan

Bretheren of the Sword
Knights of Zeal
Emperor's Crusaders

(I'm quite proud of this one)
Knights of Ludoldus- High marshal Ludoldus is widely regarded as the finest high marshal in the history of the BT (other than Sigismund of course) and it would be appropriate for a chapter to be spawned from him.

Those are a few I've come up with feel free to use them.

Templars - 4500pts
Excoriators - 1500pts
Catachan 1074th- 2000
Zeal is its own excuse

I actually started jotting down my ideas for a BT successor chapter, called the Hospitalliers Imperial (or just Emperor`s Hospitaller). They take their cue from *drumrooooooolll* the Order of the Hospitallers. Creative, right?
(yes I`m aware that there is a group of sisters who do the same, but `my guys` kinda don`t get along too well with the Ordo Hereticus for punishing innocent and loyal subjects of the emperor when taking care of a few hundred heretics.

Since the Black Templars are all about the Crusade against the forces of Chaos, here`s a list of crusader orders: might give you ideas.

Knights Templar
Brothers Hospitalers of Saint John of Jerusalem
Teutonic Knights
Order of St. John of Jerusalem
Knights of Malta
The Order of St. Lazarus
Order of Pius IX
Equestrian Order of St Gregory the Great
Knights of Saint Catherine of Mount Sinai
Order of the Iberic peninsula
Order of Santiago
Order of Saint James of Compostela
Order the Sword, founded by Guy of Lusignan, king of Cyprus
Order Saint Thomas of Acre founded by Peter des Roches, bishop of Westminster
Order Mountjoy later known as Holy Redeemer
Order Our-Lady of the Rosary
Order Our-Lady-of-Mercy
Order Sant-Jordi d'Alfama by the king of Aragon in 1201
Order Concord Founded by Ferdinand III of Castile,
Order Saint-James of the Sword

How`s about the Crusaders of (St.) Dorn?

Whereas to an englishman the taking of a sledgehammer to crack a nut is a wrong decision and a sign of mental immaturity, to a russian the opposite is the case. In russian eyes the cracking of nuts is clearly what sledgehammers are for.

MY Black Templars successor chapter is called the Crimson Crusade. Black armor, White shoulder pads, Crimson cloaks, loin cloths, and weapons.

The fluff is the Templars were fighting in exactly Codex strength but needed reinforcements. Another crusade of Black Templars were inbound but the Inquisition was there. Rather than prove to the Inquisition the Black Templars had FAR more then codex chapter strength the Crusade renamed their chapter to the Crimson Crusade. The inquisition did not know the chapter and they fought suspiciously well with the Black Templars. However they had no proof the new marines were Black Templars.

Sorry, my inner history national socialist is kicking through, but those three are different names of the same order. Just thought I'd mention that.

Yeah you`re right: I should`ve picked up on that since the Order of the Maltesers will be the 2nd company .

The "Win" marines.

I like this challenge. Here are some more serious ideas:

"The Emperor's Wrath"

"Crusaders of Terra"

"Starborn" (as in they have no homeworld)

"The Black Lance"

Thats off the top of my head. Ive been collecting Templars for years, but never thought of doing a successor. Best of luck with it!

Why would there be Black Templars successor chapters? They have Imperial Fists geneseed, so any potential 'BT successor' would be an Imperial Fists successor chapter.
