So I'm looking for thoughts on this kit from people. Is it worth the price tag? Do you think a lot of FLGS players will pick it up or leave it off their list while the home players will buy it up fast? What kind of costs will it have to put into play as a fortification in 6th edt? Or is it more of a narrative thing that you see with it than a legit game play model?
Thanks for the feedback guys.

Past looking at it on the internet, most of your questions can only be answered when we get one.
I myself want one pretty bad, but with current finances, it's doubtful.

There's hopes it will get unique rules soon. It's a good amount of terrain though, especially if you can get it from Warstore or Frontline or whoever can get you a decent discount.

I plan on getting one, but then again I'm 'the terrain guy' among my local group. Based on the wording on the website, I suspect it will be available as individual components (trenchline, dugout, bunker) in the future, but I'll spring for the megapack because as far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier when it comes to terrain. I hope it gets a datasheet in WD or online, but that hasn't been explicitly stated, and you never know when it comes to GW...

Does not look like it will. It was introduce in the Nov. WD and I did not see any special rules for it. I suspect it will be Ageis rules for the trench and Bastion rules on the Bunker and the gun emplacement are just fancy defence lines.

Uh. GW definitely will give it special rules.

The wall was previewed in the November white dwarf, but I suspect that it will get a feature in the December issue, as well. Hopefully, that spot will include rules, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a huge batrep where the Wall of Martyrs plays a pivotal role. I don't look forward to WD all that often, but I think this could be a pretty cool feature if done right.

I hope it gets rules and that I can get one.
Regardless, its an impressive piece of terrain and worth it just for that.
I think it might even compete with the FoR as the largest terrain set GW has released.

I think it looks amazing, and I was planning to get it when I realized that I rarely find a game of 40k anywhere, even at my local GW. ;( So it'll likely collect dust at home with all of my armies b/c I only make it down to the FLGS once every 4 months (parents) and only for about an hour. Anyway, I think it'll cost as many points as the FoR to actually use in a game (and then only if you have enough space on a normal-sized board)

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.

IMO, not worth it. It looks stupid as hell and it can't even be justified as a way of winning games since it has no rules. Save your money for something else.
Now if they brought back the old FW trench system...

I can't decide if I really like it or if it's a bit goofy for my tastes...I saw the $160 retail pricetag and thought that you would get more for your money, at least one proper structure would be nice, even if it was just an enclosed pillbox.
I'd like to have one, but with my recent titan purchase I really can't justify buying anything right now to my wife

I do wish they didn't have soooo many dead Cadians. one or 2 here and there would be cool, but having the entire wall be covered basically makes it look wierd unless IG are on the table.

Well, in a way, it only underlines the Imperium's obsession with people's bones, no? If you like servo-skulls, the remnants of various heroes nailed to a row of pillars in the Imperial Palace, and the Missionary's "skeleton-on-a-stick" relic, why no bones on the wall?
I could see it as a sort of "architectural fashion", with the local clergy directing the people to recover the fallen soldiers' bodies, then later having the flesh stripped from their bones (there actually is a greyscale painting of this in the Witch Hunter Codex), only to be returned en-masse to an important fortification in the hopes that their presence will bless and inspire the defending troops.
It's just a different way of thinking and treating the dead than what we are used to. I like it.

Why are dead cadians an issue? Aren't they one of the most populace of guardsmen, and if you have an issue with the Cadians then paint them up as PDF or some other guard group. I have to say now that I see the single price points for the individual bit the big set is a great value. And you do get a lot of terrain. I will probably go get one from one of the FLGS tomorrow.

i think when it comes down to it since there is little to no individual freedom in the imperium, and life is very much worthless (trillions of people out there!). Its no surprise that they would use corpses of the dead to provide a little bit of a barrier against incoming fire, if you look at the other parts its got ammo boxes and gas cans, so im assuming once they are used they just toss their junk in front of the all to absorb some shots. Also, im pretty sure its mentioned here and there that the imperium owns you bodily, which is why you have to work so hard to save your soul, and why they like to recycle dead part. I would assume there really isnt room to toss out bodies to rot or make graveyards so they will simply recycle your components into usable materials.
No need for all that to go to waste!
P.S. Dying is what guardsman do best, why else do you think 90% of the pictures in the codex show them being murdered en mass?
