THQs assets are being auctioned off on the 22nd so we should find out by the 23rd who will own what..
Apparently there are about a dozen interested parties, including Warner Bros and Ubisoft, so EA may not get anything of interest.

Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

I hope someone competent gets the SupCom series. Unless we're just going to stick with only spiritual successors and say that planetary annihilation is the only worthy successor.

I can think of worse people than EA to get THQ's assets.
Like Microsoft.
EA may be obnoxious, but they make good games (Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Spore, Battlefield etc...)
When Microsoft bought Rare it severely lowered the quality of their products.

ARGH.
That's a horrible, HORRIBLE thought.
Is Activision linked to Blizzard?
Because I don't want their grasping mitts on THQ's IP either.
Urgh.

Activision does NOT own bungie, they just happen to be in a very generous publishing agreement ATM. Bungie's independent again.
TBH, as much as I hate COD, a Activision guardsman game would be cool, becaue it would be 18 rated and not as cartoony graphics as other warhammer games (maby)

Even if Blizzard was completely separate from Activision it'd still be a nightmare. Blizzard hasn't had an original thought in ten years.

Relic has apparently been bought by Sega who have also acquired the CoH lisence. No word on DoW yet.

I hope Vigil gets bought by Ubisoft. It's sad because if I had won the lotto, I would buy THQ outright, consolidate Relic, Vigil, 4A (the guys who made metro 2033), Volition (Red Faction), and sell the rest to make the best 40k games ever. FPSs, RTS's, RPG's, you name it. If I got enough money, I'd buy Guerrilla Games (Killzone) - which is owned by Sega... so I guess if Relic is owned by them, then maybe we'll still see some great games from them... "fingers crossed" SM 2 perhaps?

I didn't even consider Sega to be a potential buyer but they paid $26 million for Relic.
Sega now control both the CoH and Total War franchises so they are becoming quite a force in the PC gaming market.

Its already in development (probably). There was an announcemnt about 2 months ago that CA are working on a warhammer game, it may not be Warhammer:Total War but the chances are good.

Now that makes perfect sense for sega to do. Plus, since they already have the fantasy licence it stops any south park style bun fights from happening.

I'm most happy with Sega snagging them

The breakdown of the assets currently sold is:
Sega agreed to purchase Relic
Koch Media agreed to purchase Volition and Metro
Crytek agreed to purchase Homefront
Take 2 agreed purchase Evolve
Ubisoft agreed to purchase Montreal and South Park
It looks as though most of THQ's games will live on and it is still possible for the rest to be bought.

Well... that sucks.
Homefront would have been better off as a sandbox game a la RF:Guerrilla, but that's not going to happen over at Crytek.

You can find the auction results here: http://www.thesangreal.net/gafpics/results.pdf
The reason that Crytek now own Homefront is that no one else wanted it and to be honest I can't blame them

So if Vigil hasn't been bought, then what happened to it? They were doing really well themselves and made some bloody good games.
I do hope this isn't the end of the Darksiders series. I loved those games...
