Hello

I'm new to the forum so sorry if this is the wrong tab for this.

Was wondering if people would help me out on a small dilemma I have.
Me and my wife picked up on warhammer like 4-5months ago now and we want to add two new army's to our collection.
Currently we play 1250pts Spacemarines vs Tyranids
And we want to add 1250pts of Dark eldar and 1250pts of Chaos Deamons.
And after looking over the codex for both armys over a week now I feel like i'm not getting more certan of what we should build but more uncertan.

So i was wondering what you guys would have builded in a setting like this?

Note: We love using diffrent models as long as it works, we dont find swarming 30 of one model much fun. And we only play eachother since we are the only players for miles so.

Looking forward to see your replys, and a big thanks to everyone that does reply. ( feel free to add abit more info than normal seeing we are new players )

It very much depends on what you're going for.
Personally, for Dark Eldar force, I'd be building a Coven,
Primarily, A Haemonculi, with 3 Grotesques, A few squads of Wracks (probably 2x10, and 2x3), a Talos or Two, 3 Raiders and a couple of Venoms is an army of roughly 1250...
Though if you're just going for sheer variety and giggles - A Haemonculi, some Grotesques, some Incubi, a Battleforce a Venom, a Razorwing, a Ravager and a Talo

Daemons... I'm not sure on points, but I would (and will once I begin my Daemons army) start with the Masque, then a Battleforce (or two),and probably a Soul Grinder + Daemon Prince.

But at the end of the day, if it's just for fun, with both of them pick up the codexes for each and read through them - then choose a HQ you think looks cool, pick 2 units for troops that look fun, and a unit from the Elites, Fast Attack and Heavy support for flavour, then go from there. (Though a HQ + Battleforce (or two) is often a great starting place for any army.)

I really dislike the Daemon Battleforce. Daemonettes are pretty bad, Bloodletters are bad, Horrors are ok, and seekers I think are ok. I think you'd be better off giving the codex a read, maybe trying/proxying a couple things out and than getting what ya want.

Personally, I'm going to play Slaanesh, so staying true, Daemonettes will be my option ( I may even pass up the battleforce(s) to buy Daemonette models! D: )

DE vs slaanesh would be fun

id say get one box of daemonettes and use that for your troops requirement (2x5). otherwise seekers and fiends would be good. i'd convert a seeker into a herald for your hq requirement.
