The shameless density of all SM plot armor.
I laugh at how graceful and skilled races like DE, who have practiced war for several lifetimes, are until they fight SMs. Then they become slow witted, clumsy, bad reflexes, bad piloting/driving ability, piss poor aiming ability. Devistating anti-vehicle weaponry vaporizes other races' infantry but is withstood by SMs through sheer force of will, etc, etc.

Jokaero HAVE been around since the RT days.
They are specifically mentioned in the RT book's background part.
Still, I'd expect a semi-sentient orange furred monk --- OOK! to know more about tech than those rite-bound idealogues known as the mechanicum.

You know, I too didn't like this phrase and I still don't, but I have been thinking on it.
The codex was written a long long time ago, and although the Chapters have a lengthy and detail of their own history from this time, a lot of it fades into myth and legend. The Codex still there to this very day in 40k, always and readily available, fresh in the hands of the oldest and newest chapters. Even those of the first founding Legions that did not wish to accept the Codex have probably forgotten that this was the case and now accept the codex as the true way. They remember and venerate their Primarch for what they were but adopt Guilliman and his Codex for being the true Astartes way.
Or not, but I don't like the statement still, just a way to rationalize how it might work.
Orks always make me giggle, not so much now as they are less the comic relief, but they still bring a smile to my face.

Yeah, the Jokaero have always existed. And they never really inhabited the same space as the Squats in the fluff anyway. The removal of the Squats was entirely separate. And it bears mentioning that Jokaero were more or less gone from 40K for the same time frame. Though they never got banned from being mentioned, lol. But, that's also because there was never a true Jokaero army like there was with Squats.
The funny part of that scene from Monty Python is the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch exists twice in the fluff. The Black Templars have it as wargear in their codex, lol.

That's gutwrenching , not laughable.
But back to the topic, GW's lack of scale on anything is hilarious.
Amberley Veil's footnotes in Ciaphas Cain, even though I disliked that a Greater daemon running away in abject terror and acting in a way of a Giant in WHFB really put me down about the novels.
I like how Imperial Fists are forced to be gourmets. Either you taste a human brain or else....
I also fancy how the Huns and Hells Angels crossbred to create the White Scars. Too bad Ghengis who was a really good ruler was warped into just being a simpleton tribal instead of what he really was, but nobody wanna know about a rapist feminist I guess.
The Space Wolves and Dark Angels are funny.
I also got a giggle out of how a lowly infantryman managed to save the life of a Living Saint (a creature just below the Primarches in power) from a pissed off tanker aiming a laspistol at her. Good luck spending your afternoon making 357 shots from him until she dies. (Gaunt's Gaunts).
It's also laughable how any novel with Space Marines as main chars basically follows the setup of a John Cena or Hulk Hogan-match. First to late part the hero struggles, then he completely curb-stomps the enemy. Superman-comics really must be read much amongst the writers of GW.

Well, realistically, Space Marines sped several lifetimes training too. They aren't just brute force. Brute force is Orks, or maybe even IGuard. And, again, realistically, Dark Eldar spend way too much time raping and lying around being all hedonistic and gluttonous. So they aren't exactly training constantly.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.
'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.' |

The names of the Primarchs. It reminds you that they were named back when the fluff was totally tongue-in-cheek.
What should we call the one that's angry all of the time? Angron.
What should we call the name of the Iron Hands Primarch? Well, how do you say Iron Hands in Latin?
These death guards have rot and skulls all over them, so their Primarch should have a death-ish shounding name like Mortarion or Mortuary One.
