A group of friends and I have decided to give a try at a Tale of 4 Gamers. For those of you that don't know what that is, it is a group of friends that get together (4) and everyone picks a new army that they don't currently play. Each player has to follow a strict set of painting time deadlines and we play games with the expanding forces for points. At the end of the event each of us will have a fully painted new army!

We started month 1 with the following: 500 point army lists. No flyers and nothing with armour over 12. We had until Oct. 31st to paint these 500 points and start games. There will be 10 games a month which include 3 vs. every opponent and a 4 player game. A win is worth 3 pts. A draw is 1 pt. A loss is 0 pts. For the 4 player game the points are 9 to first 6 to second 3 to third and 1 to last.

You must play the same 500 pt. list for the entire month. The missions are different each month also.

I unfortunately was behind on getting this blog started but better late than never!

With the first month only being painting there was not much to report. Now we are on month 2 and we are adding another 500 pts to the armies and playing the 500 pt games at the same time. Then we will paint another 500 etc and continue there for 5 months. This month is allowing 1 flyer and no armor 14. 1000 points lists.

You must paint your army! If you are not painted by the dead line you will lose 8 points from totals you earn that month. Unfortunately 1 person already didnt finish the dead line but will catch up lol.

Lewis (me) - Dark Eldar
Geoff - Sisters of Battle
Dan - Orks
Ian - Imperial guard

The next deadline is the end of this month. In the last month we are allowing forgeworld! I already bought a DE Tantalus... lol

Hey folks!

I'm the Sisters player and the dolt who didn't get the painting done on time, as you can see from the pictures. Hoping to do a little better with that this time.

Failure to finish painting by the deadline results in an 8-point loss. Down eight points right off the bat! So I had myself a little hole to crawl out of this month, lots of faces to beat in the games so I could stay in the running.

There are still a couple games left to be played for the first month of playing and things are pretty tight. I'm in first place for now! But only just barely. I've yet to lose a game! I've gotten lucky in a few of the right places. Looking forward to an exciting conclusion, as it will almost certainly come down to the last turn or two of the final big free-for-all to determine who gets bragging/chest-thumping rights for the second round. Burn the blasphemers!

Ok so a little update. We have come to the conclusion of the 2nd month for the project. I am going to get pics this upcoming week of the 4 armies at the 1000 point level and I will post the standings for the games when I get them talied.

Really sweet stuff here Icelord. Always wanted to do a Tale of Four Gamers myself but there's only really me and one other Looking forward to the next instalment.

Oh so finally an update! We are officially done with the 500 pt. games, except the 4 player game as we had a member not able to come.

We are now into the next month, painting towards 1500 pts and playing the 1000 pt. games. I will post the final results (leader boards) after we get the 4 player game done (hopefully this weekend).

We are a litte behind schedual as the holidays were probably a bad time to start this project lol

Any ways here are the next months pics for the painted 1000 point lists. As you will see there are only 3 armies pics up and that is because the sisters play was not able to be there for the pics. Unfortunate;y he was once again unable to finish the painting commitment and therefore will have a -8 to his months totals again. I will let him post his pics.

This used to be one of my favorite WD articles back in the day. Great to see folks recreating and keeping up with painting 500 points a month. Very cool.

Also, the huge spoiler on the back of the looted Ork vehicle is pure win. I laughed out loud when I saw that.

My buddy Dan (orks) said it was his looted Honda civic lol. His orks are Texas themed and you can see a pretty cool bull he green stuffed on the front of a truck too

Lewis gets salty when he doesnt win.

The redneck Orks are top notch, though.

Ok so a little update.

We took a break over the holidays and had 1 player run into family problems but we are restarting at the 1500 poit total this month. More updates to come.

I remember this from a way old issue of WD. Awesome and interesting and I'll be keeping a look out for your updates!
