After the success from last year, Throne of Blades is back for 2013. Will Harry Allen return to defend his throne?

Date is has been confirmed and is 2nd March.

I am looking to increase the number of tables, so looking for 24 players. At the moment number of tables needs to be confirmed, but will be looking for at least 20 players.

Last year the tournament was attended by several players from 40k rankings; one of those ranked 7th at the time. If you're looking for a challenge, then this is the place

Standard rulebook missions will be used along with allies. Forge World 40k approved models will be allowed. If you're not 100% on this, then check with me before entering.

Three games during the day. Games will be 2,000 points.

Scoring will be a simple format based upon win, loss or draw. Victory points will be used as a secondary scoring, though this will only be used in the event of a draw. I may add additional points for total destruction of the opponent, you think this is a good idea?

Armies DO NOT have to be fully painted, but models MUST BE WYSIWYG.

Prizes are will cash and will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Based upon last year's painting compo, this year you only need to submit best painted model only.

Personal invites will be sent to those who attended last year.

Places are £15.00 each and can be made in person, paypal or cheque.

I wasn't planning on submitting to HQ Rankings tbh. I really just mentioned about those players to give the tournie some credibility.

Awesome. How open will you be to non-GW models being used, as long as they're obviously what they're supposed to be? My Inquisitorial Henchmen Psykers, for example, are mostly non-GW, predominantly because I didn't want to use multiples of the only 3 Guard Psykers GW make. No worries if I can't use 'em, it'll just affect what list I bring.

Do you not worry a bit about the double FOC thing making for potentially very unbalanced lists...? Dunno if you saw Stelek's post on the subject. I do fear anyone who can rustle up 12 razorbacks (and, er, I am contemplating rustling up 12 razorbacks).

Non G.W models are fine as long as you can clearly tell what they. Your Henchmen sound fine, but if you're not 100% then e-mail me a photo.

Double FOC, I've discussed this with others and decided not to do it, reasons for what you've l;inked.

That's excellent, thanks! I do think we'll end up with much more interesting games with 1 FOC + Allies, as well as them being better-balanced.

I think allies add an interesting twist. I do like dual FOC, but I can see some people just taking the piss. G.W should have limited it like they did with allies.

Thanks for the link. Honestly I completely disagree with it, which isn't surprising as I disagree with Stelek 99% of the time anyway. Typical for him to call everyone that disagrees with him slow though. As was shown in the post, every army has the potential to take some hideously broken lists at 2K, but if everybody's list is broken, it will balance out nicely, hence, nobody's list is broken. I have no preference on whether it's double force org or not, I don't see it as either being bad or good for the game.
