I found this meme, and I find someone of them funny, as I generally have an idea what it's referring to, but I don't know anything else about what it's supposed to be. No meme websites have anything about it.

It seems to be called Still a virgin Graeme. Research suggests that Graeme is a name. Other than that, it seems totally random.

If I'm guessing right, the character Allen in the German story I wrote is basically like this.

Well, the research team was heavily underfunded. We were given a yearly budget of $1.06 and expected to make do. And we ended up spending all of it on lottery tickets.

Somebody started a thread about the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT and spelled the name in all caps. And then it all went downhill from there.

This is just a sub meme of the Scumbag Steve group of memes, among which also include Good Guy Greg and Bad Luck Brian. Though they missed the traditional assonance so I think it should be renamed to Still a Virgin Stew.

Yeah, funding was a major problem. Dondrekhan was appointed supervisor of the research team and he bailed out on the second day. Said something about the title of the image.

So I'm wondering if Dondrekhan is a virgin after his actions on the research team to find out what Graeme was.

When discussing the possibility of adding Facebook login to Sturmkrieg for people to connect their Sturmkrieg account to their Facebook account, he said "I don't think anyone who's not a virgin is going to do that." Sounded like a fairly random complaint to have.

Is it really any concern of yours?

Why? I was writing in the vernacular style. That's perfectly acceptable. And I wasn't being a grammar nazi, I was pointing out that lecturing people on the meaning of the word 'meme' is pretty foolish if you don't know the actual meaning of the word - as opposed to the meaning ascribed to it by internet folks. It's a misappropriation.

I doubt that. It's part of a group of words such as 'phoneme', 'museme' etc. that denote the smallest possible unit of a 'thing' that makes it a 'thing' - so for musemes, the smallest possible musical gesture that can still be considered musical. 'Meme' has a specific academic use, so I doubt that a bunch of nerds on the internet can change that, though I am open to being proven wrong. It's more likely that the internet usage of the word will be grouped together with the proper meaning as a sub-entry under 'meme' in the dictionary.
