I've been out of the loop for a bit and was wondering how warroom is doing. I don't have a smart phone, but I am contemplating picking one up during black friday. Obviously one of the potential uses for it would be this app, so has it improved since release? Any input would be appreciated. Yay or nay?

It has improved alot since it was first released. I'm still not to the point where I will pay for the faction decks though.

Thanks for the response. It is good to hear that it has improved. Buying the decks would kind of be necessary for some of my purpose of using it, ease of proxying with friends that want to try different factions while deciding how to get into the hobby for instance.

War room is primarily a card library right now.
The list builder is awkward and does not actually enforce many rules while the in-game functions tend to be sluggish and are lost if it crashes or if battery life runs out.

The few times my warroom has crashed during a game, I've usually managed to find the game was autosaved and still accessible under the fight section though.

I like it, personally, though as I only have it on my iPhone I don't really like to use it during games. It's fully functional, and has been pretty stable for me, but I like to have my cards arrayed in front of me, so I don't forget anything. Plus, I like having the actual cards to hand over to people if need be.

I find it's worth it just as a card and rules library though - it's a cheap way for you to have access to the full rules of all your models at any time, without having to carry them around. I only have one faction and some mercenaries, so $12 and I have all the rules whenever I want them. Definitely a worthy investment, especially if you get a discounted iTunes card (you can sometimes buy them for 30% off), making everything even cheaper.

Looking for a club in Brisbane, Australia? Come and enjoy a game and a beer at Pubhammer, our friendly club in a pub at the Junction pub in Annerley (opposite Ace Comics), Sunday nights from 6:30. All brisbanites welcome, don't wait, check out our Club Page on Facebook group for details or to organize a game. We play all sorts of board and war games, so hit us up if you're interested.

Pubhammer is Moving! Starting from the 25th of May we'll be gaming at The Junction pub (AKA The Muddy Farmer), opposite Ace Comics & Games in Annerley! Still Sunday nights from 6:30 in the Function room Come along and play Warmachine, 40k, boardgames or anything else!

Good: It has the cards and you can view them wherever you are. The errata updates are useful. Having the theme lists is also useful as tournaments ask you to bring a copy of them with you.

Bad: It sucks the life out of my phone battery something rotten. Still not totally responsive on the buttons. Takes time to load information.

Ugly: Still doesn't validate lists as iBodger did. And that plus battery hogging are my main problems with War Room.

I kind of want it for a card library. Can't afford the $60 yet for that though.

List builder still doesn't do what I want it to do, so not interested in paying for that.

It's painful when my opponents use it during a game. It's So Slow and eats up a ton of time. I will no longer be lenient with it and will toss that Deathclock back to you when I ask you something about one of your models and you take five minutes for stuff to load up so you can tell me the answer.

I like it, while it is a battery hog.

I find it works good for building armies and lets me play proxy games to decide if I want to start another army.

The one problem, I have with the Warroom is that the Teir Armies are not broken down to levels and it doesn't take them in to account with your points totals.

Overall, I would rate are above average.

NOVA

Well...

I have experienced that it does drain the battery and it doesn't actually enforce anything in list building (such as tiers). Also, it is sometimes slow, but very rarely for me. There does still seem to be a bug with the Minions faction deck (which they claim they fixed).

I have not experienced extreme slowness, and it has never given me any problems while in-game. The cards always load quickly if you happen to hit the right spot.

So the device you use may have something to do with the reliability/speed, based on my experience and other comments here.

Otherwise, I like it a lot. I use it all the time.

Oh, and it seems like it is unable to run in the background like other apps. If I try to do something else with my phone/tablet, it crashes when I try to go back to it.
