Hey guys. So I have a pretty good base to my O&G army. Got some spear chuckas, a nice horde of boys and savage boys. I've got some fanatics and plenty of night goblins and I've got some boar boys and a Giant. I also have a block of 20 black orcs and because of that I bought Grimgor Ironhide. I got him because A- I like the model B- he was super cheap on eBay. What are the thoughts on how to best use this guy? Should I just use him as a regular black orc warboss, or is the character himself worth the points? Thanks in advance for the response.

You could use him as a BO boss of some type, or himself, in which case I recommend at least 30 black orcs in his unit.

They all get WS5 and hatred, plus his own considerable prowess.

Inhave tons of experience running grimgore(the reason i bought a 3k footslogger orcs only army)
The one thing about grimgore, is a if your gonna use him, might as well commit, anything less than 2500 use about 30 BO I find to be effective, 2500 and over i typically use 40 BO. Now these numbers seem high, and rightfully so-reason being when grimgore hits a unit, it pops, and with a horde of black orcs, it deals the deal. Unfortunately anyone who plays warher for more than a few games knows how deadly he is lol so expect him to receive ALOT of attention.

All in all he is absolutely worth the 355 of total annihilation that he is but is a gorgeous model and would like some space for a high level spell caster that works too. With his black orcs unlike using 2-3 level 2 night goblin shamans just to ensure you get itchy nuisance, seeing the look on a chaos players face when he has 30+ strength 5 attacks with hatred going before he gets to swing is priceless! (razor banner on the black orcs works wonders)

Thanks for the replies guys! Looks like I need to go buy a couple more boxes of black orcs. And while we're on O&G, I was wondering what people thought were the best warmachines. I have some spear chukkas, simply because I found that cheap on eBay, but I don't have any of the others. Any thoughts?

Mangler Squid. (ok, not really a warmachine, but very effective).

Mangler squids are gross, for 65 points they can tear through some mean units with surprising amount of ease they're great!

War machines I've had the most problems when I line up against doom divers as matt said they're especially good at hitting cavalry
