Gonna have to ask what you're talking about. The Primal sets look nearly identical. The Sunstalker sets look pretty damn similar too. The male has a it more bading on the legs, but beyond that they look pretty much the same to me.......

I'm not sure how you come to your conclusion that they are the same. Just looking at the sun stalker armor posted above. Compared to the male model.

The helmet is cut down to show more of her face.

the arms are rather bare.

The top is cut out to show more belly and what looks like a thong or string bikini under the shorts.

The shorts bug me the most. Exposed thighs with only a fraction of the covering of the male legs.

She has heels too.

I also find a problem with the posing. She isn't doing anything, but standing. Meanwhile the male model is moving looks like he about to strike.

I could go on even. Their are tons of little things.

And? The visor portion is pulled down more.

At the elbows. Really that's a big deal?

You're right here. I guess it simply doesn't bother me.

The shorts bug me the most. Exposed thighs with only a fraction of the covering of the male legs.

Already mentioned this. Again, maybe I'm just not bothered by it.

She has heels too.

Does she? I think it's pretty hard to tell. Anyways, cowboy boots have heels. So did many Spanish boots from the conquistador times.

I also find a problem with the posing. She isn't doing anything, but standing. Meanwhile the male model is moving looks like he about to strike.

If you say so.

I think you're all fishing for problems personally, but i suppose we're all entitled to opinions.

I'm not looking for problems. I really want to like this. I love the setting. I love the oppressive feel. It's just hard when the game tries to pass short shorts off as armor. It can't buy into this world where people are desperate, but they still manage to make sure that their armor is sexy. There is simply no reason for the female models to look like that.

Not to sound like a jerk, but sure, there is a reason. The reason being the person who designed it, liked it that way. If we're going to complain about "Impractical", isn't any armor with any exposed spot "impractical"?

Holy gak that is an awesome username. Please tell me your army is called Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Morathi's Darkest Sin has some competition here for best handle, I think.

Maybe because that is the way the artist wanted it to look? You are point out issues you have with the armor when the armor is the style of the game? Did anyone seriously back Kingdom Death going into it thinking that all the females wouldn't have a "sexy" vibe to them? Have you not seen ANY of the Kingdom Death artwork or scupts?

The creator said himself that the game models wouldn't be sexyfided like the pin ups. "All of the Armor Kits have very functional armor designs or designs that fit the aesthetic of the creature they are based on."

I'm no medieval armoror, but they look pretty functional to me. Bulked out elbows and knees don't scream "mobility" to me.

There is a LARGE difference between sexified pinups and their armor equivalent.

For the sunstalker armor it is EXACTLY the same as the concept art...

Then why dose the male armor have covered elbows. I'm not objecting skimpy armor. I actually like the very first kit where everyone is naked in a sheet. It's balanced, It conveys the image of weak survivors just waking up and arming themselves with rocks.

That silk armor looks good. I'm willing to conjecture that it's just the sunstalker armor I hate.

You're cherry picking one armor set that has like, three "issues" with it. Look at the other ones. The phoenix, the primal, the spider, the gorm...they're all the same.

Again, I think people are just trying to find things to complain about.

Because in this universe women prefer maneuverability over armoring? Men use more brute strength while women use dexterity?

In the end 99% of the target audience won't care, because they are stunningly beautiful models in a board game. If the only things the other 1% can complain about are missing elbow pads and a mid drift then I'd say he's doing it right.

It's true I don't find issue with all the armor, just the ones with issues.

Amazing how similar things have been said about slavery, institutionalized racism, sexism, and women's rights.

Seriously? That's where you're taking this? Hooray for the Triangle of Friendship.

FYI, since you didn't know about alchemy and I doubt you know this: the pin up style was originally a feminist movement against the oppression of Victorian society that was mirrored in the 50s when they became popular again. Their derivation was always much more about women's empowerment than making some nerd's pants tight.

Wow... that was one hell of an assumptive leap. Equaling someone thinking a model not having elbow pads to slavery or women's rights in the workplace is just facepalm worthy. Your trolling skills are truly masterful, but it's getting a little old.

The thing about the female sunstalker armor is that it takes away from the setting. KD isn't high fantasy. Sexy armor works in that setting, but KD isn't that kind of setting. It's a dark oppressive world where people shouldn't be putting out armor that is sex appeal over function.

Except that you are dealing with a primitive people. A primitive tribe I would imagine sexual provocation as a powerful primative political tool. "I think we should do this" says the sexy girl. primitive men would be more inclined to follow.

Also once again, you are arguing a point that was clearly in the kickstarter concept art. Also, it's an expansion, just don't buy it.

My question is why is the Sunstalker armor the point of contention and not the Regeneration Suit? It's that more sexualized?

The regen suit is a pin-up. The actual Gorm armor is much more.....exoskeleton?....than the pin up is.

Well obviously that should put to rest some of the issues of sexism! lol

The man's arm is exposed, the woman has a little bit of side boob and her chin is showing... How dare he turn women into objects...

Female armor has exposed midriff, thong strap, and thighs...

Huh, didn't really think they were that different, but, yeah. I think I'm fine with all of those except the thong strap-- the rest fall under easy degrees of suspension of disbelief, but I don't really imagine thongs being attire that would even exist in a setting where humans are barely surviving with necessities (I can imagine the development ability in your town, "requires gorm intestines, cloth from kingsmen, and way too much time on your hands. No armor or ability benefit granted". I'm fine with that noise for pinups, 'cause, well, pinups, but my hunter-gatherer survivalist society may sadly be lacking in sexy underwear.

The Sunstalker Expansion is a weird expansion that introduces a happyhappy group of settlers that worship the Sunstalkers. It's where Miko comes from.

Maybe that's where the Substalker Thong comes from.

I like to wait till the final model to comment because things can shift, but I like the look of regeneration suit. I can always cover up that one hole anyway.
