This cannot be emphasized enough. More than a couple times I've missed out on a restock of a model I wanted because I blinked (read: went to work and didn't want to order it from there). If you want it and it shows as being in stock, buy it then through whatever payment method you can muster.

Indeed. And from what I've heard from happy buyers, most certainly worth the purchase, as it's great quality all the time.

Oh, and don't expect shipping to occur immediately; it can take a week or two before things are even shipped out. I'm not sure there's anyone who follows KD:M who doesn't understand it's a small operation run by a handful of people, but I've seen other "boutique" shops get angry Internet comments posted about them because their orders didn't ship out in 24 hours.
The quality is certainly worth the time and trouble though. Well, until you put them away in the corner because you're too scared to assemble and paint them because you know you'll ruin them...

Some things don't sell out as quickly though- the Big Angel Guy I forget the name of stayed there for a couple weeks at least. Pin-ups are what sell out the fastest really. Of course if it's plastic post- kickstarter he may always have it in stock. Isn't the Experiment of Death like that? Or just a slow seller as well?

He's probably doing OK without you, or many of us, as his 'philosophy' seems to be what helped drive his KS to ridiculous heights.
Some of the 'scarcity' is due to casting demands and quality standards, but some of it is possibly (!) intentional as well.

Project Update #84: Short & Sweet
Posted by Kingdom Death ♥ Like
Just a quick update today! I am still working on a much larger show and tell, but didn't want to wait any longer! We'll have a nice big long update next week.
Flower Knight!
Hard Plastic Flower Knight This is also a great time to tease this! We got the hard plastic Flower Knight in and it came out great! I was pretty worried about this one, since it is considered by many the greatest miniature in the Kingdom Death range. I was relieved to find how well it made its transition to hard plastic! I will have many more photos prepared for next update along with a nice look at the sprue.
Pledge Manager
Anna has been working to upgrade the pledge manager, so people that want to add more can do so without disrupting the rewards they have already locked in now. Since production has begun we can't really allow people to swap anything around anymore. Sorry!
SatanDuring the Campaign I promised that if we reached 666,666 I would create my own version of Satan. The artwork has been completed, the miniatures have been sculpted and cast. It will be released either sometime this weekend, or on monday of next week. It is a limited resin run of 500, but since It was "in spirit" part of the kickstarter, if we sell out I will take pre-orders for another production run. Those pre-orders will be directly via our store and cannot be added to existing pledges since they are not part of the kickstarter. So if the stock runs out, please do not worry!
That is all for today, short and sweet. I will return with many many more things to look at and our usual in-depth update on all things Kingdom Death: Monster!
Thanks and have a great weekend!

Also of interest was a bit of cross promotion that DaveC trimmed off (as not really gaming relevant), but in amongst it
Paraphrasing what Adam said
It is my not-so-secert desire to work with her on some male pinups!
Hamlet Machine, a popular Yaoi ( a Japanese genre of fictional media focusing on homoerotic male sexual relationships, usually created by female authors.) artist and childhood friend of Anna seems to be just the person to do this with but is however very busy so we'll ask her nicely if she can find some time soon.
Her DeviantArt page is loaded with little gems......I would highly recommend browsing her stuff!"
here's a bit of Flower Knight fan art she's done
so male pinups might be showing up in the future which might help neutralise some of the 'oh, exploitative' criticisms KD gets from some people (probably not though).... I'll certainly be intrigued to see where this goes

Chances are the male pinups will get a lot of "Ugh no homo" from the fat white gamer demographic that makes up the userbase.

Oh I'm certain they won't be nearly as popular (think of the children we'll hear, think of the children),
but they might well pull in a whole load more female buyers who like the crazy world of KD but didn't fancy painting semi clad women
and I want to see what they come up with

I'm just curious to see how he intends to do a male pin-up. Super Muscle Man? Effeminate Shy Guy? Somewhere in between? There are quite a few different ways to go with it IMO, and it may be difficult to find a good balance in what would be attractive to a female audience.
-or a male audience as well, now that I think about it.

Well, given that the artist he is referring to is a Yaoi artist, it would seem he would be going more for the 'pretty boy' image of male pin-up.
With that in mind, I honestly wouldn't be all that surprised if there was far less movement on male pin-ups then is expected. It's struck me that complaining about male pin-ups is a useful slam at a project that many people simply don't like on principle.
That said, being that this is a Poots production, anything that is produced will no doubt be pretty amazing in terms of detail and execution. A well done pin up model is, after all, just a well done model, and we can expect them to sell... well, out, just as everything else does.
Very curious as to this "Kingdom Death Satan" model though... yeash, I can't imagine what the scrum will be like trying to get that...

I'm very interested to see the Kingdom Death Satan, should be really cool. On the topic of male pin-ups, I welcome the idea. I don't think I'd necessarily buy one, but I love that he wants to make them, and think it's hilarious but fitting that he wants a yaoi artist to help. I'd think the most successful tactic to... Ahem, please all crowds would be to take the Dragon's Crown approach. For those who aren't familiar with the game, all characters (male and female) are based on different "looks" that people find attractive. So, basically, they could make pretty-boys, muscley chaps, dudes with super broad shoulders, and I'm sure there are others that I just can't think of, all that jazz.

almost time for another update but they're tinkering with the pledge manager so aren't going to do it until that's ready (presumably that will be modified so adding more stuff won't wipe you previous choices, and to adjust the prices of some of the options that have increased in costs) but Adam posted this to tide us over, resin King verses the larger plastic version http://cl.ly/image/421x2D0t1j3K (image too large to post over so you'll need to visit the link)
